The fact that most of the rangers playoff woes were because of defensive plays makes the championship that much more special since we won it because of our defense. I fucking love the rangers.

I was hoping the Pirates would pick him first overall in the draft. They took Skenes but I believe Langford will turn out to be the best player in that loaded draft class. Wish the Pirates could trade for him now before he becomes the player that he's gonna be.

If we can hold on to Jung and Carter, we could potentially get Langford to stay because he just WANTS to be here. If we can maintain those 3 in the organization for 3-4 years, we can have a powerhouse on par with the Yankees of a century ago. Call it Murderer’s Row 21.

Game 1 was truly the cleanse of the pain from 2011 game 6. Same night, same location* (different stadium but still). 2 runs to tie it in the 9th. Walk off solo in the 11th for the win. Garcia breaking Freese's RBI record. Garcia making the catch Hamilton should have made in 2011. While 4 more games still needed to be played, that game 1 performance really proved that this Rangers team was built to win it. 2011 still hurts but not as much anymore

how do the rangers sign shohei, hader, monty, and another top tier talent? realistic or an impossible dream? a few things to consider before laughing this off. first, there's no cap in baseball, only luxury tax. also the rangers would sell out every game as they just won their first world series in franchise history. that doesn't include revenue in shohei merchandise. they would literally make their money back in ticket sales and jersey sales in year one. lastly, if they offered a two year contract to all 3 players they could not only go after ohtani, hader, and monty, but another top tier talent next year. dodgers and red sox don't have a retractable roof which would shorten ohtani's his career as a two way. i hate to break it to the big spenders but when it comes to being the greatest baseball player of all time, money alone isn't going to convince the face of baseball to join ur team. winning means everything. he's done chasing the biggest bag. l.a. and boston have state taxes so all of this factors into his decision. just from a common sense perspective it makes sense that the rangers are the favorites to land shohei. wyatt langford, who is being compared to mike trout, was just called up by the rangers. the rangers had 5 all-star starters last year. and w wyatt langford added to the mix, u are basically looking at potentially 8 or 9 all-star starters next season with the best pitching rotation in baseball when degrom comes back. it just doesn't make sense for any other team to be the favorites to land him. if he only signed two years he would still be making the same per year if he signed with the dodgers or the giants who would offer him a long term deal in the elements of unpredictable weather. but by the end of the two years ray davis would have so much money in revenue and ticket sales that they would not only be able to match a long term offer but dare i say be able to offer more. Reasons why Shohei Ohtani "will" sign with Texas: 1: no state taxes 2: defending world series champions 3: retractable roof 4: influx of elite youth talent built for years of success in the future 5: great numbers at globe life field 6: Chris Young is the best GM in baseball/Princeton graduate/former player (pitcher) 7: Bruce Bochy is the best Manager in baseball/future hall of famer/4 rings (most recently last year) 8: only team in MLB history to go 11-0 on the road in the post season 9: Ray Davis is not afraid to open his wallet (he can't take his money with him only his legacy and lets face it he's in his twilight) 10: Jacob deGrom, Max Scherzer, Nathan Eovaldi, Jordan Montgomery, and possibly Clayton Kershaw will be our rotation next year. 11: Josh Hader according to the rumor mill has mutual interest in the Rangers 12: He would bat clean up behind Marcus Semien, Corey Seager, and Adolis Garcia 13: He would immediately become the face of a franchise who is in dynasty mode. 14: how many All-Star starters did Texas have last year? 15: Chris Young is a high character guy who seeks out high character players. Shohei is very much a high character guy. class recognizes class. 16: Shohei has already said that he appreciated how the rangers sought him out before coming to the league. 17: opposing pitchers won't be able to pitch around him because of who would bat in front of him which means more home runs. 18: Yu Darvish loved playing in texas and most likely had conversations about it with Shohei 19: the fan base. we are loyal. I waited my entire life for a ring. went to games for 40 years win or lose. 20: last years world series had one of the worst ratings ever. there were zero story lines. other than the home fans who would watch regardless, what were the intriguing story lines that would pull in the league fans? there were none. hell, baseball needs a villain. astros are getting old. the yankees have a diminished brand. the dodgers don't win in october. where's the villain? there is none. the texas rangers shelling out a gazillion dollars for a gazillion stars would be exactly what baseball needs. shohei to texas? let's roll!!! if shohei is afraid of getting injured he will definitely go after a long term deal in which case the front office will have to offer him a minimum of 400 million for 10 years. but do i have doubts that if that happens the rangers will take their hat out of the ring? absolutely not. chris young is way too smart not to let the opportunity of signing the goat pass by. with that said, do i think shohei will consider other teams? well if it was before the rangers won the world series then sure, but i 100% guarantee his mind is made up. u can call me mystic mac cus i predict these things. corey seager had tommy john too. hell half the league has had tommy john. but ur saying the greatest player do ever play the game. the dude is a cash cow investment in revenue alone not just ticket sales. japan will be paying the rangers to televise every single game. and any team who doesn't have a retractable roof that is going to bid on him doesn't stand a chance. every person in japan will be wearing rangers jersey's. he's 29 years old. he's in his prime. and he's the elite of the elite. his body will heal. and he's way too much of a competitor so he will pitch again. so when degrom comes back and he comes back dear lord god in heaven and earth. w rumblings of kershaw coming to his hometown. monty, eovaldi, scherzer. heany, dunning, and gray will hold it together until degrom and shohei is ready so if it sounds premature to say "i know where he's going", just means other mlb homers for other teams are delusional. why would a two way player who has had two are surgeries want to play outdoors for the rest of his career?

Seems like an expensive DH for a year and then a giant mystery as a pitcher after that. This is his second Tommy John and many teams are not super pumped on his medical evaluation -which is probably why no team has moved on him yet. Funny how he is upset about the Dodgers admitting they kicked the tires. I wonder if that is because they wanted to use the Dodgers to pretend that it’s a multi team bidding war for his services when not even one team is super interested.

He will be. If the season had been one week longer, Langford would have been on this year's playoff roster. No projection system, like Steamer, will declare a rookie to open the season out of spring training, but Langford is special and will force his way onto the MLB roster.

@@jayballauer8353 Don't count on it. Every team with a potential superstar seeks to start his season in the minors for one primary reason-- to avoid arbitration as the years add up. This is what the Braves did with Ronald Acuna. Everyone knew Acuna could start the season in the Show but that one month delay bought the parent team a bit of time and money. It's all about business.
@jayballauer8353
@jayballauer8353 4 ай бұрын
@@michaelwolf6424 True, which is the only reason why he wouldn't. But that's countered by the extra draft pick a Rookie of the Year winner yields the team, as long as they begin the season with the team. Projections are extremely bullish on Langford, including leading the majors in doubles. In other words, Langford will be one of the best players on the Rangers team leaving spring training. If he breaks camp at AAA, it won't be because he's not ready.

@@jayballauer8353 I'm a UF grad with Kevin O'Sullivan's cell number. I'm involved in the coaching profession and a vendor. I"ve followed Wyatt virtually from day one. My Fla friends are his neighbors. You're preaching to the choir. I have no doubt that he'll succeed in the Show due to his talent .. . but. . . again, I refer you to the case with Acuna. As good as Langford is, there's no assurance he'll be Rookie of the Year. If I was the GM I'd weigh my options . of which he has many. Popular consensus would be to elevate Langford and charge out of the chute. Only prudence as a GM would be to hold him out at least a month. We'll see. Here's a trivia question for you. Do you know who the Braves sent down in order to put Acuna in the lineup? The answer is: Preston Tucker. . a former Gator whose records Wyatt eclipsed. Preston is Kyle Tucker's brother of the Astros. Preston ended up in Japan. Kyle became an All Star The Rangers may find themselves in the same predictament. That's baseball.

Man, the 2021 Rangers lol. I remember being super excited just because it was the return of a full length baseball season and the first chance to see them play at the new ballpark in person. After starting 3-3 it felt like anything was possible. Then they got no hit by the Padres (and later again by the Yankees). Losses started piling up, and eventually the reality that this team would lose 100 games was real. I still watched or went to games as often as I could. Moments like Heim's back to back walkoff HRs and Adolis Garcia's huge tear into the bigs were some really huge highs that year among an ocean of lows. Little did we know these players would help build the core of a world champion two years later 🥲
