I'm wondering now that this camera and the Pyxis use USB-C for the monitor, will these be interchangeable and when will third party monitors get released with all the touch functionality? Insane amount of features finally a little more competitive compared to sony. In the Netherlands everyone is shooting sony because of the prices, but the canon seems like a much nicer package to me.

Really nice review! 2 questions I think I didn't hear mentioned are what's the time for black shading and how many audio tracks can be recorded simultaneously. Also if recording in H265 would drop the audio from 24 to 16 bit as in the C70. Thanks!

@CVP is there any chance Canon going to include Gyro data in the video files? We have been using gyroflow as a big part of our workflow, and it has been one of the biggest factor why we have not chosen any canon camera to work with, even though they are really amazing.

Depends on the type of work you do this camera looks like a great option for broadcasting and doing live events. But for someone shooting commercials, or docus I'd stick with my black magic 6k tbh haha. Each camera has its own look at c400 is super digital imo.

Fullframe rf with decent controls is the big thing here, image quality a bit of a toss up with the competition. Canon Raw is still shit to work with in case anyone forgott. Seems we finally live in an age where pixelpeeping is coming to an end and it's more important to consider what other features you need from a cam.

Don't waste you money on Lumix the Firmware is flawed / useless. >>>> Here is why : The S cameras do not allow to automatically adjust AUTOMATIC EXPOSURE when using MF or AF/S mode. They lock AE ; so when you do a run and gun reportage video or photo your AE is locked to ONE VALUE as soon as you keep the shutter half pressed, resulting in over and/or underexposed photos and footage :) However much I love everything about my S1/S1H/S5II in all practicality they are USELESS ( so have to go back to Sony ) ... honestly I do not know how Panasonic can get away with such a glitch :) NOT A SINGLE REVIEWER HAS POINTED THIS OUT : D ... there is another serious flaw, but I leave it to you to find out ...

I'd really love to hear information about how you huys think this camera will position itself in the rental market. As a potential buyer, it is an investment for me that i want to be able to make back. Whether this means charging mroenin my kit fee, hvaing access to more jobs because of being an owner operator, or consigning the camera at a rental house. Id love to get some info about rental rates and statistics as well as comparisions to competitors like the fx6. Another thing I'd like to learn about is a comparison in autofocus to the fx6. Also, is the triple base iso a true native iso or some funky very good software mixture like it is on the fx6? Learning more about third party rigging options like thoughts on cages and rigging out for a full cinema build would be great. Personally, I see that back battery plate attachment being annoying with how high up it is placed. Lastly, learning more about the wireless connectivity options as well as the future proofing of the camera for upcoming tech advancements. Like the info about the ethernet for virtual production purposes was great, but what about internal gps or gyro data, etc? Overall super informative well produced and thought out video as always, thank you!

I would prefer either clean lens like Masterprime or some very charactered ones like Mercury Anamorphics. Depends on the project of course.

With my work being 75% for vertical delivery, it would be amazing to see a vertical workflow section in camera reviews. Really loving the images from this camera, but shooting vertically on it will require quite a bulky rig build.

I'd love to see a DJI compact camera... Let's call it the DJI FX3 :D That would be a dream come true: good hardware paired with good software, no artificial limitations like we are used to from the established companies.

There's nothing "cinema" about this camera. it looks super clean and digital which is obviously okay for some filmmakers, but this camera would have been impressive 5-7 years ago.

How is the image latency from lens to SDI output?

Is it only me or the image looks less cinematic than the C70 and not as soft pleasing but more sharp as a mirrorless camera?
