**************8the way people behave in parties or local shops, everyday life is full of those moments where as a writer you look at it as a powerful metaphor (recruiting them and making them happen is the hard part, but observing it happens alot)

So interesting to hear from Claire how some of this book came into being. And I am so glad it did. I loved the real life pace of the book, how the toddler reality gave it shape, and that a book was be able to be made out of a time that seems so hard to grasp. Thank you so much for writing this book.

Fantastic interview, the book sounds great! I love books with themes of the harshness and cruelty of nature and religion. Currently my favorite is The Mercies by Kiran Millwood Hargrave, but this sounds like it could definitely be a contender.

I loved the book! The characters were so real and multidimensional. Louise Kennedy paints vivid pictures through her descriptions. I grew up a Catholic in a small town in Canada and could relate to many of the characters.
