My top image is the 54 Bowman. The Mays and Feller amongst others is #1 for me, not sure any other Mays even comes close in terms of image on a card.

I didn't really care for the '75 set. The mix of colors were displeasing and set lacked uniformity. Also, most of the time I love this channel, but like videos that show wax pack unwraps, I find PSA reveals boring.

Some great cards..What's your thoughts on the 76 Brett's registration? His facial area looks a little blurry?? Could just be the scan? Thanks for showing them off!
@VintageBaseballCornerАй бұрын
Good question! I think that's from the snow on the surface. There is more than the scan shows, but that's likely contributing to what you're seeing. It's interesting that the scan with the card in the sleeve shows less. That said, I got a PSA 6 in the mail today and the surface looks much worse. So I guess there's hope!

Hi Chris. My brother played against the Indianapolis Clowns back in 1985 at Atherton High School in Louisville, KY. I actually have a newspaper clipping of the story about the game and a photo of Dave Clark, the player with polio, using crutches. I have a extra copy of the article if you would like one.
@VintageBaseballCornerАй бұрын
Hey, first of all, thanks for watching all the way to the end! Hope you enjoyed it. I'd love to see the article. Is it something you could scan and send to me? I don't necessarily need a hard copy if you can get a good scan. I'd love to read it. My memory of playing them is pretty scattered.

@VintageBaseballCornerАй бұрын
Thank you! I have another 19 '75s at PSA now, plus a few more that are a boddy's cards. If I were to guess, I'd say it will be more balanced between 7s-9s. In my set, I only collect 8s or higher and there were a few cards I've had a problem finding so I took a chance and sent them in. I think they have a shot at an 8, but that would be their max and 7 is possible. I hope to publish a preview video of that sub, sometime this week, which is 76 cards from '60-'79.

Thank you, I'm humbled. Watch the previous videos when you have time and feel free to heap such praise anytime. Ha ha. But in all seriousness, to me it's about the stories as much as anything, and the cards just help tell those stories. I'll do my best to keep it coming even when there are no grades to reveal.
@PickerJimSАй бұрын
Awesome cards! Congrats on the grades! Mid to low grade vintage with nice eye appeal is right up my alley! Bummer about the 58 All Star Musial. Maybe it had been in a screw down holder at one time. Years ago we thought they were the best way to protect cards but over time we found out that they can flatten the cards and sometimes will cause the altered designation from the grading companies.
@VintageBaseballCornerАй бұрын
Who knows... it was my buddy's card and a FB purchase from a trusted seller. But no lineage of ownership beyond that, so to speak. I had a '73 Reggie come back the same. Bought several cards from the same seller. All others graded. You never know!

Very cool stories, Chris, and I enjoyed the reveal as well. I never knew some of those specifics about Musial and Spahn, thanks for those stats. I haven't been able to find any Chuck Connors MLB cards/photos or memorabilia, does he actually have anything playing days? I believe he has a minor league card which I do look for from time to time. Remember him from a movie that scared the crap out of me as a kid called "Tourist Trap" with creepy moaning mannequins haha. Still love it! I'd see him in reruns of westerns after that once in a while also. I'm a fan of his but never realized he played ball until 10-15 years ago. Cool video!
@VintageBaseballCornerАй бұрын
Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed it. The only playing days card I could find on Connors is a 1952 Mother's Cookies, card #4. I had never seen it before. I didn't know much about him until a buddy pointed out his Pacific Legends card.

I was pretty darned happy with that sub, esp since the 1975s (separate reveal video) were in there as well. The 1971 Ryan, 1960 Mays, 1959 Aaron were all bought at a local card show. All were priced for better condition, but we came up with a deal after closer inspection. When I got home I found them another level below what I thought at the show, but still had a little room to not have overpaid. That's why I'm not great at card shows, I get too hesitant to buy at times. That said, other cards were nice surprises, both Ryans (the Yount, 73 Mays were all on the high side of my thinking. The others were pretty much spot on. Thanks for watching. I look forward to catching up on a few of yours soon too!

Thank you. I had a little brain freeze there and forgot Oakland while shooting the video. I had jotted down 2 Pennants and 2 World Series, as he also won the Pennant with the '67 Red Sox. Then said 2 teams and 2 pennant. Thanks for the correction. 😀
