I'm warping up my loom (4 shaft table with string heddles) to make this dish towel. For a 26 inch towel, what was your reasoning for a 56 in warp?

The extra was for take-up, shrinkage, and mostly loom waste. Have fun weaving!

Thank you for this video. I love the look of these primitive cross stitch pieces. I do a lot of cross stitch working on 28ct and the eyes just aren't as good as they used to be. Sometimes I take out as many stitches as I put in. I will give this a try. Pamela A/PA

I am wondering if the Valdani Perle cotton 8 is more economical than the 3 strand floss. Any idea?
@DoodleDogPrimitivesАй бұрын
I did a blog post about this a while back. I am sure the prices have changed but I think you will still find it helpful. doodledogprimitives.com/price-comparison-of-valdani-pearl-cotton-to-3-strand-floss/ Besides the cost, the end result can look different. See a video here showing the difference: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fLSbmZea2tHcnKM.htmlsi=N4eJePXk_jm4Q-Oe

Does the model B work in a similar way as the one you demonstrated? Also, can it be used on fabric other that wool?
@DoodleDogPrimitivesАй бұрын
Yes, the model B works in the same way except it doesn't have a way to change the blades (that we could figure out anyway)

This was such a helpful video! Thank you for sharing with us! I do have a question about lettering and numbers.... how do you get them to look so nice and uniform? I hook my letters and numbers first when doing a rug and then hook around them. It always seems to come out looking "wonky". Any help would be appreciated! This pillow turned out so beautiful!❤️🤍💙🇺🇲 I'm from Missouri, too! Sedalia, in fact! But I've lived in Alabama now for the last several years.
@DoodleDogPrimitivesАй бұрын
I know right where Sedalia is. We have spent lots of time at the fair there! My mom hooked this piece. She is definitely the expert on rug hooking! She says you just have to hook right in the middle of the number / letter line and practice, practice, practice! Have fun hooking!

I had heard of the water technique - but it was to put boiled water directly on the piece. It does work… however, I like your pot method better, because it will be easier to manage. I don’t think you need to leave it in the water for very long at all though. Something I will certainly be experimenting with more, because I like using thrifted clothing, and jackets with interfacing were something that I used to pass on and not use.
