Since it follows the same logic of processing one after another, the only difference to use layers is this practical organizing thing? I mean, is there some more advantage or difference?

Hey Blake, will the tool be supported in the mini Panel? I see resolve growing - but the remote funcions on the panels not?
@moryjn36542 ай бұрын
hello thanks for the info , Im using the Avid Artist Color panel, but I cant find the driver , can you help me with that?
@BlakeJonesShowsHowDoYouDoThat2 ай бұрын
If you go on to the Avid website in their Support area, you need to download the EuControl software. Once installed, it will allow you to use the panel.

This looks like a nifty tool! I like the little yellow moving callouts in the video that identify the various controls. If words like "six vector secondary color corrector" no longer scare me, does that mean I am becoming a color nerd?

Hi, thanks for this video. I have the same enclosure, but for some reason my camera doesn't recognise the drive. Can you share any ideas why this might be the case?
@BlakeJonesShowsHowDoYouDoThat3 ай бұрын
If the enclosure lights up when plugged in, it could have something to do with the formatting of the module.

Thank you so much. The Resolve manual is trash sometimes. On "Dealing With Occlusions When Tracking" (chapter 137 Motion Tracking Windows), instead of telling us to create a keyframe where the tracking is good, it tells us to just create a keyframe after the badly tracked portion, which messes up the interpolation.

Thanks for the video, suggestion, what I would have done first, is to make the track of the eye, after I had the tracking data done, I would have made it the size of the eye and then if necessary, the qualifier.

I have run Cintel MkII and MKIII TK's - the MKII was an awful machine for film handling! It would be nice to to be able to scan 8mm and have all scans at 4K resolution. What is the bit depth of the scanner?
@BlakeJonesShowsHowDoYouDoThat5 ай бұрын
Hi, There is a new 8mm/Super 8mm gate coming out for the scanner. The bit depth for the scanner files are 12bit.

hello. great video. i have an issue though-when i try to group only one bunch of videos and not others from the timeline, it links all together. how to avoid it? thanks
@BlakeJonesShowsHowDoYouDoThat5 ай бұрын
Hi, So glad you like the video! Don't forget to like and subscribe! Regarding Groups, if you click on the first clip to go into the group and then Shift Click at the last clip to go into the group, it will place all the clips including those in-between into the group. However if you only want select clips, first hold down the CMD key on a Mac keyboard and then click on the clips you want included. Those selected will be highlighted in brown. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you this is a great overview. What does the L.s. setting besides the curve panel mean and actually do?
@BlakeJonesShowsHowDoYouDoThat5 ай бұрын
The LS function in the Curves window is for lift softening and HS is for Highlight softening. They are extremely powerful controls as it allows you to create a very powerful correction and then recover the information in the highlights and lift area that would normally be clipped or crushed. If you look at the RGB parade display while doing this, it will show you the result.

Which format is better to use - DPX or Cineon? Do you find yourself using the Dirt Removal tool (the one from DaVinci Revival) very often?
@BlakeJonesShowsHowDoYouDoThat5 ай бұрын
DPX or Cineon are essentially the same file format. The main difference is that DPX was developed by ILM as they needed information in the file header which did not exist with the Cineon files that were developed by Kodak. I actually use the automatic Dirt Removal tool in the Revival Open FX Plugin area of Resolve quite a bit. It works extremely well but you need to be careful when using it with cartoon animation content.

Total beginner here. How did you add the second node?
@BlakeJonesShowsHowDoYouDoThat5 ай бұрын
It's Option+S for a Serial Node or Option+P for a Parallel Node on a Mac keyboard. Within the program, you can also do this on the Color Page by access the Color pulldown menu at the top of the display and select Nodes and then the Add Node options appear.

Hi Blake what size would a 4k 35mm scan of a feature like StarWars. Is it possible to work on files that are compressed down due to the huge sizes a raw would have. I am sure that it would need serious space and computer power
