I am wondering why there is nobody making blank puzzle stock. That, along with the right gloss paper attached to the top, printed on a printer, would be a great product to make. Also, if you have access to a lazer engraver, you can do the cutting on that. One suggestion to better color match. First print test samples of the color needed. You can also color match with that computer software sometimes. Mine (corel photo paint) will let you mark the scanned image and where you select the location, it will match the color you just picked off the image. Then apply it to your test sheet to print and adjust as necessary. Nice video. Thanks.

9:30 - 'Magic Puzzle Company' has a similar texture (and similar loose fit :( )
@dhpbear22 ай бұрын
I just completed 'Color Bliss' (1000 pc, also from Complete The Puzzle!). I'm now looking to see what others thought. My thoughts (before I see yours). 1) The pieces are MUCH denser than usual. Really nice luxurious feel! 2) This is the loosest-fit (paperboard) jigsaw that I've come across! (I would recommend just framing the poster :) ) 3) The pieces' texture is like velvet, but the pieces tend to 'stick' to each other when you're trying to slide them around during sorting 4) The random-cut is GREAT! I've only seen such cuts in wooden jigsaws.

We LOVE the random cut, too!

I got an aurora borealis 1000 piece puzzle, I had a very hard time putting it together because of its gradient. My cousins came over one day and unmade it, in the process a piece went missing. I am still freaking mad at them. I had a frame made for this puzzle and all. Now I don't have Photoshop knowledge but hope this will help

I hope you're still speaking to your cousins! Missing pieces are a fighting matter, lol.

I did a brand new puzzle with 1 piece missing! I've searched the area, the vacuum bag😮(2x), laundry, washing machine. I wanted to seal the puzzle & hang it, so im thinking of making that missing piece. Im so not crafty, thanks for this video

I have tried to use cardboard and scissors but am just terrible at cutting with little scissors apparently. So since I couldn't even get one layer to fit well gave that method up. Plus photocopying and getting picture sized properly and color matched at a store was also hit and miss. Mostly miss. So I use wood. First I trace missing piece on regular white paper then rubber cement that to a thin piece of wood close to puzzle thickness. After completely dry, I cut it out on my scroll saw. Then fit it using my dremel tool to fine shape if needed. Next I sand the piece on another board where I have glued a piece of sandpaper sanding it to the correct thickness that matches the puzzle. This will also remove the paper so all I have left is wood. I wet my piece with water enough to raise the grain, let it fully dry. Then re sand it smooth. Next I paint the piece according to what is needed to match the puzzle using acrylic paint. If I don't like it I can wipe it off or re sand and do it again. When I like final colors I mod podge it using with whatever finish I need to match the puzzle either matte , satin or glossy. I can usually do all these steps in less than one hour.

Same. Instead of sealing my finished puzzle, I spent the night swimming on the floor looking under the couch the TV and searching the vacuum<cough>. Decided it doesn't have to be perfect but looking for a quicker hack - so I can move on to the next puzzle! So frustrating!

Lovely to see your take on the competition. I'm sure you all thoroughly enjoyed yourselves and did very well indeed. 👏 I wonder how well you would have got on doing the Lupins puzzle? I would imagine that it would be quite difficult with the dark areas and the flowers. Karen's prediction of circular puzzles certainly proved correct. I wonder how many expected to see panoramic jigsaws? No doubt future Worlds will have circular and panoramic jigsaws appearing. I'll look forward to your next video whenever that is.
