In evaporative cooling all that matters is the airs' water saturation. It takes dry bulb temp (regular temp) and tries to get it to wet bulb temp (full saturated temp) the more efficient the media is at saturating and the drier the dry bulb air is the greater the drop. The best units are 92% effective, bad units are about 70% when you put colder ice in that isn't evaporative cooling it is heat / cooling transfer from the air to water.

If you want to do the math on it you need two things: the exact inlet air temp (your dry bulb) and humidity. Then use a web bulb calc on the net. That is the temp you could reach at 100% efficiency . Read your outlet temp and you can see your performance. The most efficient units temperature wise are phoenix manufacturing Aerocool Pro Series and Seely international breezair products. Both of these units will put out air in the 60 degree range with over 100 degrees temp in arid climates. Both come with programmable thermostats to prevent over cooling the house. Energy / cooling most efficient is the the Bonaire Durango thin window mount though it leaves much to be desired in temperature. If I remember it only has 4 in thick rigid media. If you really want to compete with air conditioning 8in should be min but 12in is the way to go.

I just got one as a gift, from my son for father's day, and I must say, thus far, I am equally amazed & impressed with the power, as well as the (lack of) sound! Great for a [retired/disabled Automobile Technician] D.I.Y. guy, like me.

Would love to see a good review on these, as in after using for some time not just a sales pitch. So far this is the closest I could find. I have seen some people saying their cable was not double insulated as advertised on eBay, and lacking in girth for the connectors etc (mc 4 from China), So i wanted to make sure these crimpers are good. Same with the connectors. Nearest solar shop is too far away. Hard to trust anyone these days. Solar set ups can cause fires and burn your house to the ground if they are not good quality, which should not be expensive, apart from the fact that there is strong demand etc. Otherwise I will just use house wiring and protect from the weather using conduit. Once again the government let's us all down by not checking quality of imports and not reporting causes of house fires. Too busy doing their corrupt business deals I suppose.

An evaporated cooler works by putting moisture into the air, the humidity absorbs the heat. Never put hot water into a swamp cooler just use regular tap water. Your experiment of ice that other people insist is needed and works is just a temporary cooling feeling as the air is being blown over the ice it doesn't last very long and it's no different than putting a bucket of ice in front of a fan and blowing it on yourself.
@jasonmarch19832 күн бұрын
Not correct heat is not transfered to matter moisture that would be still warm humid air. Heat is removed when the water molecule changes state from liquid to gas.
