You and Sreten from M539 are doing what I always wanted to do with old BMWs, buy them, fix the up and save them. I already have 4 older BMW's which are in good shape but would love to dedicate time in saving others like this. Love this content. Keep it up.

I have to tell you that those little helpers practically did the job for you. On a serious note, be careful letting the measuring tape run back like it did at 1:17. I did that once and ended up with a nasty cut.

That’s great work - doing the wheel work yourself is outstanding! They look amazing. Looking forward to the next episode already - here in NZ.

Loving your content and delivery, why you have so few subscribers is a big puzzle to me. Keep it up, looking forward to the M3. I’m a M539 patreon BTW. Seeing cars that otherwise might be scrapped being rescued and loved for many years to come is very satisfying to watch. I just wish I was talented enough to do what you do. Thank you. 😊

I have a super small garage like yourself. Impressed you managed to have a solid scissor jack like this. Just to clarify these don't need to get bolted down?

Not needed but I bolted mine down just in case. Thanks!

I'm a little confused about lift points. It appears it doesn't lift by the pinch weld area but by pads located elsewhere. How do you know if this will work on your car?
@DeadEndRestorationsАй бұрын
You can move the pads around to place them on the right support structure for your car, I put mine on the pinch welds or you can place it on a frame/jacking point as well

Hey there, I was just wondering where you bought the BE bearings and ARP bolts from? I am in Ontario as well with my high mileage S65 (250k) and want to do this service too but just don't know where to order from Thanks!
@DeadEndRestorationsАй бұрын
Hey - I think I bought the RB's from ECS tuning and the bolts either from them or from FCP euro. Cheers and good luck!
@DeadEndRestorationsАй бұрын
The duty is a huge pain, would recommend shipping to border and 'picking them up' it will save you $200-300 easily
@trevorr5175Ай бұрын
@@DeadEndRestorations Thanks! I am in Ottawa so only about an hour. I heard horror stories from ECS damaging packages and shipping out the wrong items. DId you experience that at all?

Very nice! But...A car that has the full set of underbody panels.... I don't think I would be able to remove the panels with those wide lift sections under the car. I have a 997 and pretty sure it won't work. My Quickjacks work well, but don't' go as high of course. Thanks for the video! -Tom.

Annnd he is back! Bringing her back from the dead. That rear bumper and rear of the car might need a blend, paint correction unlikely to get it looking right (ask me how I know lol)

Glad to see a video! I love those tires, I had them on my E90 M3 and I loved them! They have fantastic traction for country roads and light track duty. They work well in the wet as well.

Goad to hear! Drove them a bit so far and agree they have fantastic grip and traction so far

@DeadEndRestorationsАй бұрын
Ya i need to paint correct the rest of the car as the old paint is a bit faded (lighter) vs the new. This is what happens when you only paint the bumpers vs ‘blend’ in other panels with new paint. Cheers!

@@DeadEndRestorations Oh okay gotcha! Well, now I have another thing to look forward to. I know I've said this before but you are awesome. I won't compare you to another KZfaqr but I love that you are restoring the car and doing most of the work (restoration) yourself (DIY style) instead of going down the modding route. Hey would you know how to remove the wheels on the lift? It seems like theres no easy way to remove the lift wheels once you move it!
@DeadEndRestorationsАй бұрын
to mount/remove them the lift needs to be up as it rotates the pipe that the wheels attach to. Cheers!

I have a 540i that is 6 speed manual swapped with 540i / M5 suspension upgrades (springs/shocks/sway-bars) and it's sublime, certainly not a all out sports car but a very fun touring car, endlessly fun to drive at any speed.
