Sams fiddle playing is entrancing. Quite honestly some of the very best bow control in all of folk music.

...and there was me thinking nobody could improve on the Voice Squad version Beautifully sung by four lovely young ladies - I keep coming back to this, every time I'm feeling a bit low and it lifts my spirits.

NOT ONLY noT AN IMPRVEMENT OVER THE VOICE SQUAD but their feminazi leanigs shine thru. hey sang over JOY rather than overTHROW,. The line is Kind nature hath formed her for my over throw.

Raggle Taggle Gypsies famously introduced the sport of squash to the British Isles, hence the setting for this performance.

We should have known this is what would happen once women got involved in Morris dancing.

50 years ago when our team opened up to women dancers our modest team rapidly expanded from all men …to three sides…a men’s… a mixed … 2:42 and a women’s … it rapidly became obvious that much of the future growth and development of Morris would be from the dedicated women. Bless Boss..!!..

Down by the salley gardens My love and I did meet She crossed the salley gardens With little snow-white feet She bid me to take life easy As the leaves grow on the tree But I was young and foolish And with her I did not agree In a field down by the river My love and I did stand And upon my leaning shoulder She laid her snow-white hand She bid me take life easy As the grass grows on the weirs But I was young and foolish And now I am full of tears It was down by the salley gardens My love and I did meet She crossed the salley gardens With little snow-white feet She bid me to take life easy As the leaves grow on the tree But I was young and foolish And with her I did not agree

I'd only known Paul Sartin as a harmony vocalist and fiddler/oboist in Bellowhead. The first time I ever heard him sing solo was "Poor Fellows" from Peter Bellamy's The Transports at Shrewsbury in 2017.Oh my! What a magnificent instrument he had!
