The Shilin market from 2005 was absolutely amazing. It has gone downhill in the past 10 years unfortunately. I miss the original large tent with all the vendors! That was the 'food' night market, and the there was another one in Taipei we called the 'clothes' night market. That was back when Korean jeans were super popular and we'd hunt to find them and bargain with all the vendors. Best times.

What a shame that things changed. What was the Raohe night market like back then? I’d feel a little better if that one was nonexistent and now has become something special. We had thought it was going to be such an incredible market, and we were disappointed to see that it seemed to be a shell of what it had been. Thanks, Allen, for sharing your experiences and for watching our video. -Judy

@@FindingGinaMarie I believe it was called 五分埔 or Wu Fen Pu. Maybe not a traditional night market and more like a clothing area. Don't think a lot of people go there anymore.

Really good video, but I did find the loud music drowned out your commentary a little.I have just returned from a trip to Krakow and I HAD to visit Auschwitz. It is a truly terrifying thing to be standing in a place where such horrific crimes were committed against innocent people. I went on a guided tour which was good but if I visited again (which I hope to do soon as I had to cut my trip short) I would visit alone without a guide as a guided tour did not allow time to read everything. I found the sight of all the shoes, eye glasses, and suitcases so moving, also the photos of all the victims. Thank you for uploading, I enjoyed it.

Great episode, your videos are fun and educational. I liked how you picked up on the nuance about the locals protesting, and the government actually deciding to listen to the people and preserve the area. That ain’t happening in so many other Asian countries. You had an epic Asian tour! I appreciated the whole series. I think you aced it👍 You chose the best places to visit and did a great job taking your audience along. Looking forward to the next tour. Was Verona hinted at? I’d love to see a Veneto and Tuscany tour… PS, next time you return to this part of the world, fly for an extra few hours, to discover Oz, NZ and maybe Fiji. It warrants at least 7 months

I noticed this video this months ago while planning my trip but I didn’t want to watch it because I wanted the element of surprise when I got there … (well I missed my connecting train Surprise ! but I managed to get there ! ) Love love love Assisi! Turned out My hotel room( apartment )was in the amphitheater ! Town was practically empty my first couple days (May 5,6,) then it got a little crowded with tourists /pilgrims - (no street food vendors - a lot of “bars”/cafes open) then they had their Renaissance festival that the locals participated in. I had a wonderful time it was so beautiful ! Rocca Maggiore gives you beautiful vistas over the town ! Can’t wait to go back to see San Damiano and a couple other spots thanks to your video …

Mine wasn't as spicy as it looked; it really just had a lot of seasonings that I inhaled. And contrary to what Kevin said, his was not spicier than mine. But both had too much sweetness and were way too heavy for a day when we really were looking for salad! We are glad we tried it though! It's supposed to go well with beer, and maybe that would have been a better contrast. Wasabi packs a LOT of heat! We are so looking forward to meeting up in Colmar! -Judy

Thanks so much for watching and for letting us know we aren't alone on this! The second time we visited Italy we decided we needed to try an appetizer as well as a primi and secondi. No, we didn't! And of course the waiter would always tell us that the pasta portion was small. No it wasn't! We have learned our lesson for the most part. My Italian tutor mentioned that even Italians want to feel like they get plenty of food for the price, but we don't need that much food, especially if we want to have dessert! We felt awful about leaving behind all that fried chicken, but there was no way we could eat it all and we didn't enjoy it enough to take it with us. I'd almost be willing to pay full price for half portions at restaurants or to have restaurants allow you to share a dish (but as we found in Taiwan, they really don't like you to do that!). -Judy

This is good information. I can't imagine eating fried chicken *after* dinner, even if it's a late-night bite. Well, maybe I can ;) We aren't beer drinkers, but we still wanted to try a pub and have some of their chicken (the place we went definitely had a pub vibe and had locals, even though it was only around 4pm). We saw the table next to us get ONE of our dishes and share it amongst three grown men, so we definitely goofed. We should have realized from the price that we would be getting a huge meal. Thanks for watching! -Judy
