I have no business criticizing because I’m no great shakes and I admire Barrie’s playing so much, but with a slide you need to loosen up your wrist and vibrato from the wrist, not the arm. Also vary the speed of the vibrato, and sometimes slide into a note and let it hang before applying the vibrato. Stuff like that is how you really make it sing. Listen to Mick Taylor’s slide playing, he’s a master of vibrato.
