Just to think about this video. Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson were either - sweeping a track in a season - winning 3 in a row at a track - winning at a event 2 or more times in a row - winning 4 races in a row And of course winning Crown Jewels and Championships

To his credit, Mark Martin saw the funny side of his mistake at Bristol: "I can't believe anybody else would be that stupid! Listen man, I've been pulling for David Green to win really hard but not like that! That's the stupidest thing I've ever done,"

is it me or is it irnoic saugus had to cup regulars iflling top 2? phenoix where they should have had the advantage terry didn't win in spring and no cup driver won there in the fall (there and sonoma would have been the only 2 places they had a clear advantage), but at saugus? really? i mean saugus is so famous (how famous is it) it didn't even last that long in the series (what 2 years? and yet it was the first one a cup driver won at in trucks, first one a cup driver pulled off the triple (win in all 3 top series) and first one that cup drivers would go 1 2. i looked up kenny and geoff stats. combined starts at saugus? like 5 2 in 95 and 3 by schrader in winston west. yeah really where i'd pick a cup driver to win a truck race..........

Despite Jeff Gordon winning 4 races in 05, this was quite possibly his worst NASCAR season since 1993, and his worst season with wins. Started off the year great, but by the end of the season he finished 11th in points, the first time that had happened since his rookie season in 93, oddly, in 08 despite him going winless, he was much more consistent that year, finishing 7th in points.

2007 was the first year I watched NASCAR and didnt have a favorite driver. I had a Jeff Gordon lamp and notebook, and was rooting for him until he crashed in the Shootout. I then decided to root for whoever won, and to this day I remain a die hard Tony Stewart fan.

Unfortunately this season is where you can see the grand stands starting to empty a little. They aren't packed like they were in the early 2000s. I'm only 18 minutes into the video and it looks like they are starting to fill up a little more as the season goes on.
@arlindosilva2557Ай бұрын
Target Chip Ganassi Racing dominated that season. 10 wins, 1st and 2nd in the championship, Zanardi winning 4 in a row and setting a new record in points and top 3 finishes. Jimmy Vasser also scored more points in 1998 than he scored on his title season (1996) Actually, if it wasn't by Greg Moore late moves both in Rio and Michigan, TCGR would have won 10 races in a row.

made a couple of mistakes in race names and race wins: Auto Club race was the Auto Club 400, not 500 Martinsville race name was shortened to the Goody's Fast Relief 500 Newman's win at New Hampshire was his 15th win, not his 14th
