There are a few issue that I think you have been overlooking in new cars... First; Direct injection with a turbo charger gas engine. The carbonizing on the valves has to be done every 40,000-75,000 miles for a price of ~$1800 US for parts and labor. It is not a question of if it needs to be done, but when. You also need to hope that nothing plastic was cracked or stressed during the removal of the intake manifold(s), fuel injectors, fuel lines, wiring harness, etc. or it will add to the cost. The first Ford Eco-Boosts were initially throwing error codes that would shut down the engine immediately, without any kind of "limp-mode" to allow you to pull off the road. Second: Small V-6 and I-4 motors that are being turbocharged to get big-block V-8 or mid-size V-6 performance out of, respectively. In order to get the engines lighter it looks (from KZfaq tear-down videos) that there is a whole lot less steel between cylinder bores, more water journal passages between cylinders, closer cylinder spacing, and not enough head bolts or studs. Couple this with head-gasket failures, and you have more engine replacements than anything else. Third: CVT transmissions.... Most of them are looking for a place to die once they are manufactured.... The Toyota hybrid CVT is about the only CVT transmission that is reliable and/or bullet proof , but it really is not a CVT transmission with the belt and two pulleys.

I must be the only person who hasnt had trouble. 3 landrovers over 20 yrs and hardly a problem. Had lots of so-called good brands and they have been dreadfully unreliable. Give me a Landrover any day. No car is perfect.

I bought a Merc A200 in 2018. Despite trying hard in fact finding I still have no idea whether the car was made in Germany or Hungary or Finland. Any body any clue?
@jd31383 сағат бұрын
You might take a look at the VIN number, as they can often be decoded for country of manufacture. (You may need to do some google searches for decoding it.) You also may try the sticker on the driver's side door post. It will often have the country of origin, VIN, and tire pressure inflation. If in the US, take a look at the Catalyst sticker on the hood of the vehicle, as it also may be stated there.

I don’t hate the XM. I just hate that they chose that as the first standalone M car since the M1 A new M1, maybe another sports car, and then the XM and I'm sure most fans would have been ok with it.

This was one of my first scale models as a kid. So you can imagine how I felt when in mid-1990s suburban Melbourne, my friend opened his dad’s garage and I found myself staring at a Dodge Viper and 1969 Mustang. I couldn’t believe my eyes. For all its faults, lack of quality and exotic style, a red Viper RT10 still remains a childhood dream car 😍

My long term review : 2018 Mini Copper Countryman All 4 S (purchased new) Problems prior to 60,000 miles: Door Latches: All four door latches failed (at various intervals) requiring the doors to be tied down to the headrest until repaired. The passenger door latched failed twice. Service manager was unable to offer an explanation as to the cause. Research mini and BMW door latch failures. Battery Replacement: No indication/warning light given that the battery was getting low… It just stopped functioning. Replacing the battery requires removing support bars and engine compartment panels. Somewhat time consuming compared to most cars. Engine Coolant: almost all of the engine coolant evaporated causing the car to overheat. No warning light that coolant was low. Car had been serviced by Mini of Bedford two weeks prior and had been consistently serviced by the dealership. Decals: Decals around the headlights bubbled and needed to be replaced. Tires: Run flat fair weather tires needed to be replaced to allow for inclement/snow conditions. Hood lift supports failed. Service/Technicians: There are very few shops that work on Mini Coopers and most are as expensive as the dealer. Overall: The Mini Copper is not a reliable vehicle and owning one in North America is costly unless you have the time to perform the repairs yourself.

I've been driving I've of these recently and I have a couple of observations. 1. The engine sounds a lot rougher than I would expect from Toyota 2. It uses heaps more fuel than I would expect. They both might be something to do with the CVT making sure it's never in the right gear, I don't know. I talked to the mechanic and he said that's pretty normal.
