I’ve been watching research on these birds for a few years and just learning about the whole chatter call. It is just amazing how crazy the bird world really is. I would go as far as to say these cowbirds and other parasites are like spies. The youngsters are able to collect intel from their host nests to further evolve and design their future corruption haha.

This cowbird species is a parasite full stop, not benefit to the host. Predators are beneficial to nature, but some parasites are not. The jury is in, about the cowbird a 100% parasite with no benefit to the bird population. This parasite should be reduced to benefit the entire bird population. The researcher has become emotional about her subject the cowbird, this emotion is a flaw in her research.

Hello, as noted at the beginning of the program, the actual film was not recorded or posted. This was done to protect the filmmaker's intellectual property and allow them to earn revenue on the film when it becomes available for purchase/rent in 2023.

I enjoyed it but you over explained at times which made it feel longer than needed to be. But overall good Job.. Natural science is one of the few that isn't bias due to weird money agenda via institutions and industry..so it is still pure I feel. .oddly enough alot of science names existed pre Greek times via Thales thru Phoenician and even into Egyptian. Which indicates something just taught humans and we are kinda pawns given fractals and being lied to like children by how society appears to be influenced 🛸 Sorry for the side step but it is oddly relevant if you take a large enough and long enough step back. I love ornithology tho

I'm from the south side of Chicago and often went to Rainbow Beach as a kid where I learned to dive from jumping off my dad's shoulders. Every trip would include a stop at White Castle. Burgers were 10 or 12 cents at the time. My mom passed away about a year and a half ago and somewhere in her stuff is her "life list" of the birds we viewed out her back window. I'm sure it was over a hundred when I left Chicago (Cook County) in 1976. I'd sure like to get my hands on that. I hope my sister finds it.

Lmao they’re not evil, they are just doing what they’ve been doing for millions of years.

@@Knicks518 evil is subjective and in the eye of the beholder, with that being said these birds do nothing but damage non-native ecosystems and drive out native species, destroying all nests within their “territory” and that to ME is evil. It’s my view.

Very informative. Thank you. Morality aside, what is it about cowbirds that makes the destruction they cause worthwhile?

Could it be that God created Cowbirds to keep the other bird's populations in check 🤔 😡 🤪 😠 😜 🤬 🤪 And that the Cowbird haters would keep the Cowbirds in check 🤧

You guys are the ones pushing for the paving of Montrose point Bird Sanctuary. No one wants it. The disabled don't want it. The tree loss has destroyed any chance of a decent experience to the disabled you all were supposed to be helping. Everyone that uses Montrose point is furious. Yet you all stand behind this thing that no one wants. You all need to listen. You silence anyone that speaks out against it. There are disabled people speaking out against it. Pavement will destroy Montrose. The 50 trees killed to make way for pavement have caused serious damage. Only the most profoundly stupid person thinks removing 50 trees in a bird sanctuary to install asphalt is a good idea. You do not speak for birds or ecology You speak for politics. You should be ashamed.
