Something abnormality with the signal
@photonatureengland88952 күн бұрын
Possible. All I know is that the camera gimbal starts to spin and then stop and all connection is lost. When the return to home starts the drone connection is restored. There have only been 2 times when the drone lost the connection when there is nothing in the way and I have a 100% signal.

@@photonatureengland8895 This is the second time my AIR 3 has had this happen. The first time (in June this year) I was literally flying in the middle of nowhere (no obstacles, no birds nearby). So I contacted with DJI support. They asked me to share the logs from the drone and the controller. Now I'm waiting for the results of their investigation.

I think that the seagull is at least 10m above the drone. I had Oystercatchers which have come to about a meter. And their wings fill the screen when they fly past. I think it's some glitch with the drone. But I haven't noticed any problem with the drone since then.

If you do get someone saying 'you shouldn't fly drones' the obvious response should be 'you shouldn't walk dogs'👍 Well done for passing A2CofC.
@photonatureengland8895Ай бұрын
Just before taking my A2 COFC, they recommend doing some flight maneuvers that I do there. There is no obligation to do this. Yeah, a lot of dog walks around and the dog gets very excited easily when I am flying my larger Dji Air 3. Thanks

just to point out to CAA, you need 3 hands to do some of these drone maneuvers in a 10m square. Don't think there is any obligation to record this for CAA? Don't worry about 'dog walkers' if you are a fair distance away. I get spooked by dogs. Helpful vid though👍
@photonatureengland8895Ай бұрын
I don't think likely the CAA will ask for my flight records. The consultation is about as much interaction as I have had with the CAA.

Nice shoot, thank you. How many battles were there at this fort?
@photonatureengland88952 ай бұрын
There were 3 68-pounder Guns and 2 32-pounder Guns. They can fire 1600 yards 0.9 miles or 1.463km. 2 underground magazines chambers house 126 barrels of Gunpowder.

@@photonatureengland8895 Did this fort take part directly in some kind of defense? Or were the guns never used for defense?
@photonatureengland88952 ай бұрын
@@_1_1_ From what I've read, I don't think the guns were ever used. Littlehampton Fort was built in 1764. This was dismantled in about 1834 and became a coastguard station. It looks like it was used as an observation post in the Second World War 2. After that, it was left as what you see in the video.
Wow. That's some place to fly. Nicely captured 👌 👍 Great flight

Thank you for the video. Did I understand correctly that the fort is now privately owned? Do people need to obtain permission to take aerial photographs? Interestingly, the fort was built in the 19th century, but did not take part in the battles of the 19th century. It’s a similar story with the forts of St. Petersburg.
@photonatureengland88952 ай бұрын
It is privately owned, but I am not sure who the owner is. When googling the fort. The National Trust came up with the building. You do not need to obtain permission to take any Aerial photographs of any building in the UK. However, some buildings are in areas that are in FRZ - flight restriction zones. You would need permission to fly in those zones. Obviously flying a drone outside someone's window or low over a school may raise privacy consequences.

Thank you for the video. What rivers are shown in the video? How often do spills like this happen? I see that people don't build houses close to the water to avoid flooding.
@photonatureengland88952 ай бұрын
It was flooded last year, when I took my Dji mini 3 Pro over this area. --> kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lc2jZtZp1bKXf30.html The valley north of Amberley is only 2m above sea level. The River Arun is not very wide and cannot cope with heavy rainfall. There tends to be a lot of rainfall in the winter. The river overflows into the valley between Amberley and Pulborough. I will fly over this area in August and see if there's any water or flooding left.

The picture of the flooding is clearly shown, the scale is visible. It is not clear where so much water came from? Were there long periods of rain? At what date did the water level in the river begin to rise?
@photonatureengland88953 ай бұрын
It kind of on the edge of Fenlands. So the land is around 8 meters above sea level. The River Great Ouse is not large enough to cope with lots of rainfall in the winter period. So you have flooding happen nearly every year. The land West North and south of Huntingdon is round 45-20 meter above sea level. The land North east and south east go down to 3-1 meter above sea level.
