Threadmills are dangerous compared to road in due to it being unnatural in my experience.

What if your shoes haven't got that second hole? Is there another lacing technique that works?

In my experience, getting ready for a race via only treadmill is not great ..I would mix in treadmill as recovery runs..

An advantage to running in the early morning before and/or around sunrise is not getting sunburnt. I finish my runs before the UV rays become effective.

What was your run like? U still recommend 1/2 size up as running warehouse say 1/2 size down.... these have been re-released in Australia one time only and might give them a try......

I got injured often training for marathons until i incorporated treadmill running. For marathon training I do all my non-long runs and non-interval runs on the treadmill. So basically those 4 - 7 mile easy run days I do on the treadmill. My legs don't take the same pounding and I still do my long runs outdoors which is where you get all your confidence and endurance from.

Really hate intervals it's like punching yourself in the gut over and over....but it's the only training to make you faster.

Nice video. I use the Treadmill on 0.5-1% generally & still atleast 2 runs a wk outside to keep the joints road conditioned. Its abrnefit overall because more hrs/kms spent in Zone 2 = better Mitochondrial Capacity 🎉. Cheers

Hi there, Harry! I saw you run the championship in Innsbruck yesterday. Good work finishing that thing. Ran the IATF K85 course on Saturday before and know just how brutal the terrain and the noon sun are. Excited to see what's next for you! Greetings from Germany!

Totally agree with listening to your body and cutting your runs shorter if you’re in pain. I’m training for a half now, and the program includes 4 runs a week. Monday - 8K, Wednesday - Intervals, Friday - 8K, Sunday- Long Run. It’s Friday and I only managed half my run and that’s okay! With S&C on alternate days, it’s taxing on the body

Something else that helps is pressing down ur stitch (while running) and blowing in and then really quickly and powerfully out (press harder when u breath out)

When I was dealing with some runner's knee I started doing 50% of my runs on the treadmill and what do ya know?! All my knee pain eventually was gone. I find it a great tool for working those fast twitch muscles and for doing inclines.

Well done. I really like your analysis and how you lead with the challenges you face. Last week I ran a trail race and thought about it... Give my all instead of dropout and be thinking "what if I had continued". It was the result I wanted, but definitely the right mentality. I'm running the UTMB 100m this year... My first 100m. Thank you for the inspiration.

I think treadmills are great and since I like to workout/lift weights 3-5 times a week, it´s convenient to end the days training with a 5km run. Its true, its not as hard as running outside, but when you live in a city and have to run on concrete or asphalt which is pretty hard on your joints and you have all the pollution on top, I only run outside when I´ve got the time to drive out to a forest or even barefoot on a beach in the summer :)
