Just one correction, it's not a carbon copy of the Para 3, it is only in terms of size. The liners are different enough to make scales not interchangeable. The blades might work across models.

I bought my first Cold Steel knife 10 years ago , a Voyager XL Tanto. I still have it, and now I have around 25-30 more Cold Steel folding blades including the Recon 1 in all 3 blade styles. I love each one, I rotate them in and out of carry. They are not perfect knives, but they’re perfect for me and that’s why I prefer them over any other brand on the market.

I went to a store to test this knife and surprisingly loved the size. I don’t have particularly big hands, I‘d say they are medium normal hands. The knife was like glued to the hand and the fingers perfectly fell into all the right places. I thought „this is how a knife should feel“ and it didn’t feel too big, its more like all other knifes were too small (at least for my taste). It felt really great. I had a problem though, that I couldn’t open it only with my thumb without wielding it and I also couldn’t close it with one hand. maybe my fingers are too weak or it was too new and hard to unlock, but it was almost impossible so that was a nogo unfortunately. Also, I heard that the owner of cold steel sold the company and that the quality dropped a lot on the new knifes. Don’t know what it’s about in detail but doesn’t sound good.

That's not a bad lookin knife at all. It reminds me of some comic book character back in the day called Maxx lol. If anyone doesnt doesn't know what in talking about, Google Maxx and go to images. You'll get it lol. Nice knife though. I dig the button lock on it. Wish they had more button locks with Spyderco. A PM 2 with a button lock would be nice.

All the hardware is custom made specifically for Chris reeve. you can take the pivot from the zaan and unscrew it till there is only 1 thread and the pivot will not come out. it’s as secure there then it is if it was all way in.

no offense but you're not actually testing anything (you know that right?) other than adding to the bulk of evidence that "knife bro" is a legit mental illness. nothing you did was a test of anything, other than the patience of 38 thousand folks. I dare you to show us the average watch time for the video. I'm going to guess it's about 2 minutes. Also every single one of these steels has been extensively tested, actually tested, in a lab. In a variable controlled, precise, lab environment, that's called empirical evidence, and all of that data is available to anyone. idk what you think you're accomplishing but it's really quite silly. If you think I'm being "mean" then you are used to real talk because this is real talk. You didn't test anything. This video could be 10 minutes long, if you had any respect for the viewer. I'd bet my life not a single human watched the entire video. You wanna mess around with knives and film yourself, have at it. Have some self respect and don't try to call it a "test."

I like Spyderco just fine, but for the money I think Cold Steel offers a better deal in the pricepoint in each knife. For collectors like me, I love my bright green-handled Spyderco Endura and a few others, but if I were going out to just get a knife for everyday carry (EDC), I'd go with Cold Steel every time. Strength: CS Blade: CS Safety: CS Edge Retention: CS Edge: CS/Serrated or Plain Ergonomics: CS Ease of Sharpening: CS/AUS10A Price: Mixed Views Of all knives, Cold Steel has, I think, the best combinations of blade length, steel, strength, edge and safety. When talking price, I'd also choose Cold Steel, but with the caveat of shopping. Some CS knives are horrendously overpriced, with others being great deals. AUS8A/AUS10A blades are the steels I'd choose. I love edge retention, but I _hate_ sharpening blades; and if I'm not cutting wood, I prefer the CS serrated edge. Years ago, I bought a CS Vaquero/5-inch serrated blade. I didn't know much about knives back then and I just wanted a Cold Steel, but I could see even then that the scallops were a bit rounded and the teeth were worn. But the nylon sheath was practically new. Now, I've used that knife a lot since then, since about 2006, and the blade edge has been worn significantly, but if I close my eyes and just run my finger along that edge, it still cuts through anything but wood. The serrations last forever. I did get a Marauder w/serrations, recently, and the patterns were terrible. This most likely was on purpose to keep users from grinding the teeth off, but I returned it to Amazon. The seller sent me a replacement (though I'd asked for a refund). Happily it had a much better serrated edge. Cold Steel is UNM (under new management), so we knife users have to keep them honest, so don't accept shoddy workmanship!

@stevek88295 ай бұрын
The slim handle gives hot spots of you actually use it for more than flipping. That’s where the Buck 110 is superior, especially in the better steels. My Sebenza 25 is nice but the pivot is poor design. Listening to the bank vault clang doesn’t produce actual work.

I thought I needed a deep carry clip but a shaman I got came with one and it created a total hotspot when flicking open the knife. It gave me appreciation for the stock spyderco clip! I’d like if it sat deeper in the pocket but I think their design is great and comfortable for me on my para 3, manix 2, and shaman.

I don’t know why people use the word fitment for how things are fit together. This is not what it means, please look it up. It’s an English word meaning how well something is furnished, like an apartment. And the carbon fibre is obviously laminated peal-ply…. Perhaps reading the manufacturer’s information before doing a review would be advantageous…
