And that is why theyre called widow makers...do not touch a dead tree unless you know exactly what youre doing...they dont fall straight like live wood, they explode on impact, they even sometimes just crumple straight down on top of you. Seriously dangerous if you are even remotely a novice.

He made the relief cut then he started the final cut way too low. If the final cut was 8 or 10 inches higher the tree may have fallen in the intended direction.

im no expert at tree felling. but i did cut down abou 60 big ass trees on my proerty when i moved in, never did this happen because i did one thing this guy didnt... i looked up and used common sense.
