I'm #childfreeandlovingit, but this makes me more hopeful about children & the future of humanity. :') I pray that these two stay frens for life.

First off congratulations! ❤️ As a 22 year old male, I know I’m not the normal type of target audience for these types of videos! But, my mom is currently 37 weeks pregnant and she’s planning on giving birth naturally! She wants me present for the birth & we watched this together! As she wanted me to get an idea on what I may expect in the delivery room. I was wondering if you can offer me any tips and/or tricks that may help me better prepare myself to offer support during the labor & Delivery?!
@MitchellMerrill6 күн бұрын
Hey I’m so honored you watched this with your mom and thanks for reaching out about that. I actually have a video on my other channel about that very question! Check it out here! Hope that helps and feel free to reach out with any other questions. Wishing you guys all the best on your upcoming labor. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nt1nkrGU0bi-mas.htmlsi=GslsDwx060MxoNOR

After all the training you’ve done to become a dentist, NOT WEARING YOUR HELMET is the stupidest thing I can imagine in virtually any fast motion sport! Crazy!
@MitchellMerrill10 күн бұрын
That was the first ski run without a helmet I’ve ever done in my life actually! I put it back on after that run, but I didn’t want Char to spot me from far away with my bright red helmet. I’m glad you’re pro-helmet as well 🙌🙏

Hi Mitchell, great memory to have on video. How is Davis doing in his recovery?
@MitchellMerrill14 күн бұрын
Davis is doing really well after surgery, he’s still taking it easy, but he’s feeling almost completely back to himself so that’s great. He’s got a huge scar but I think it actually looks pretty cool!

I was told by my labor and delivery nurse that you HAVE to come in after your water is broken because it puts the baby at risk for infection 🫣😮
@MitchellMerrill17 күн бұрын
Many hospital staffs are very used to the standard western protocols of how to do things (ie, when your water breaks, you are supposed to come in due to infection risk, if you don’t begin laboring X hours after your water breaks, then you are supposed to get induced, etc). But the reality is that you don’t HAVE to do anything, really, as long as you communicate your desires and expectations well to the staff you’re working with. Since you’re paying for that hospital room, you can largely set the rules for your own body and what you feel comfortable with. This is why we recommend writing out a birth plan before the labor starts so that all of the possible outcomes are discussed and resolved according to your desires and comfort level before labor even starts.

What a beautiful birth story, thank you for sharing! I'm 36 weeks and planning an unmedicated birth center birth. The way I was triggered by your family's remarks/ feeling like they were being selfish by making those comments lol! I know it's not how they meant it but this was a good reminder for me to try to set boundaries ahead of time and tell as few people as possible.

Thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed and took some thing away from it! I think it can be so helpful to see other peoples experiences, so that’s great information for you knowing that you want to keep things more to yourself than we did. I’m so glad it helped you in that way. Wishing you all the best with your upcoming delivery! Let us know how it goes!

How long did you wait until people saw you in the recovery room?
@MitchellMerrill19 күн бұрын
She was born around 4pm, we then slept (or tried to sleep) that night and our parents were the first ones to meet the baby and they came in the morning around 10am.

Hi Mitchell, wow, great family reunion and video. That darn GPS tracking works when you don't want it to. It is scary to think that it is so easy to give your location away. That Uber driver sounded very nice and I think you had him for a reason. His words helped you put everything in perspective. Even though you couldn't surprise Char, the smile when she saw you said it all. Also, you were able to surprise your daughter and mother. Your daughter's reaction, when she saw you, of her smile and excitement were priceless. Poor Davis, hope that he had at least a few Ski runs before his injury. Thank goodness for the Ski Medics and their prompt response. How in the world do you contact those medics when you need medical attention? Wishing the best for Davis to have a full and speedy recovery. Being 21, his youth is on his side to recover quicker. Except for Davis's injury, it looks like you all had a great time together. As long as you have a strong family, that sticks together and Health, you have everything.
@MitchellMerrill22 күн бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! True, those are all great points, you’re spot on in all of it. Luckily the ski patrol guy just so happened to be skiing down a few minutes after Davis fell, so we got lucky. If not, you could send someone down to get ski patrol, call the lodge if you have service, or ski down yourself to let them know!

I remember when my son walked for the first time. It was after we remodeled the house. I also watched my daughter walk for the first time when she realized it was easier to walk in a dress than it was to crawl in one. All these milestones are WONDERFUL. Be sure to enjoy them because your little ones will be grown and gone before you know it.
