I'm going to be restoring our childhood brunette Midge I purchased Liquitex Her face is a little damaged so I hope the paint takes I heard it's best to dilute the paint with water and to make two thin layers instead of one thick one to prevent streaks or that "caked on" look I also bought a binder for the paint to adhere I hope it works! Thank you for this very informative post

Hey Laurie, nice to meet you 😀 I love so much The Little Mermaid movie! I had an awesome time by watching the Live Acton one in theaters! The Little Mermaid animated movie is my favorite Disney movie and the Live action version same too now 😀 Wow! This is amazing! You did an excellent job with this Ariel doll from the animated The Little Mermaid movie! 😀 I love it so much! You are very gifted! Keep up the excellent job! She is so stunning! I love so much her ALL look of this Ariel doll! 😀 She is a mixture of Ariel from the animated movie and she looks like a real person at the same time! 😀 As I know to use silicone, I'm making my own silicone merman tail inspired by the tail of the mermaid Syrena from the movie Pirates Of The Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides. I would love to see you making the Ariel doll played by Halle Bailey from The Little Mermaid live action movie! 😀

So I'm painting a Padme right now, and I think to myself, "I wonder if my twin repaint sister has any Star Wars related videos?" Stupid question. You are the Padme queen. So while I'm painting, I'm listening to your video, and I want SO much to have a conversation with you. I feel absolutely the same about pretty much everything you said. I also love Anakin, and I love his relationship with Obi Wan. The scene where they are fighting in the lava is absolutely gut wrenching and I cry every time I watch it. Obi Wan loved him so much. Lots of people dislike Anakin because he is so moody. He has a lot of temper tantrums. He was insanely passionate, and loved fiercely, but he was abused and deceived and acted out of fear. It really shows how fear can consume a person. I still can't wrap my mind around him killing all the Younglings. He really was possessed at that point. The whole force thing really is a spiritual battle. I had a nostalgic fondness about the first 3 released, and I remember the whole audience cheering in the movie theaters back in the day. My favorite ones are the prequels though. The most recent ones with Rey were novel-- mostly to see the old characters. Han Solo (Harrison Ford) was a teen crush (had posters of him all over my walls-- from Star Wars and Indiana jones) and it was awesome to see his Han Solo character develop over the years. Devastated by his death. The old demons ran through those bloodlines. It was amazing to see Kylo Ren break the curse at the end. I so wanted to find out that Han really wasn't dead, but then if he wasn't I'd probably complain that it was predictable. The spinoffs were especially dear because one of my old friends and classmates, Michael Giacchino did the music for Rogue One. That made it extra special. He also cameoed as a Storm Trooper. That was incredibly novel and I lived vicariously through him at that moment. Wondering why you and I have never gotten on a Star Wars conversation during all the times we've talked. If we lived near each other we'd get absolutely NOTHING done. :P Love ya, xxoo L

a funny thing i found out about billy zane. he wasnt the only one who had a part in the horror Critters, years later Leonardo starred in his first movie which was *drum roll* Critters part three. which i thought was neat because both men who played in a horror franchise later were playing in the same movie together. kinda cool.

Love the doll head render and just the use of black and white. Im still a newbie on this type of art form. But I always loved dolls. Paranormal stories I am sure everyone has at least one. Many people dont talk about it. Personally I have experienced paranormal experiences. I dont like to mess with that stuff. As humans I feel theres alot we dont know. I keep al open mind. Peace.

Beginners: I was a cosmetologist and I understand color, contouring, highlights and low lights….if you do makeup think of your color combo in those terms. Think of your foundation as your primer which is your matte clear coat before you begin. Think of how you do your eyeshadows. I would suggest playing around first as you want to use thin layers of acrylic ( folk art and apple barrel also work) paints and keep your brush damp using long light coats. Miniature model brushes for like war hammer or dungeons and dragons work also nail art brushes. Check out tutorials on them and have a play. Also the chalks for scrap booking that are acid free work. Learn how to use your brushes by practicing to get even smooth coverage and what brushes do what. I use a toothpick to dot my eyes instead of a brush for my minis. You don’t need a lot of colors, learn how to gradient your colors and I find best highlights/low light are w/same color lightened or darkened. My first doll I did looked ugly because it is a little different working on plastics. I also had a lot of leftover furniture chalk paints and they work as well thinned out and sealed with a water based polyacrylic spray sealer. I hope my experiences help someone thinking of getting into this hobby. Thanks Laurie for your videos I enjoy watching artists of all kinds! God bless you!

Beautiful work! Great resemblance. Regarding Anakin, i didn't buy him killing the Younglings. If you're a Jedi for that many years, there is no way you'd off children, even if you're faced with losing you wife (Padme). If one argues that it was a result of his Turn, then I think George needed to show how that free will decision completely corrupts any positive, prior conditioning/programming. Or the "I must obey my Master" thingee, needed to be explained more demonstrably. But I'm with you in loving Anakin :0).

Also new to the world of doll repainting/face ups. Art first I was trying to stick to the most popular methods of watercolor pencils and chalk pastels but for some reason I've found myself struggling with the use of dry application. I much prefer the use of liquid/cream application.
