I tested negative. However, I have flares. I have deformities. My fingers don't point the right way anymore and my toes are trying to do weird crossy things they shouldn't do. My hips, back, shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers, ankles, and toes are affected. Sounds awfully similar to RA to me.

Thank you for your positivity I have MS Lupus RA & Sjorgens & it gets kinda loopy trying to differentiate which one is actively causing me drama so videos like your helps to sort it out easier to seperate. Keep it up. “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word cheers it up “ Proverbs 12:25 your video can help cheer up someone who is having anxiety differentiating their autoimmune diseases with simple explanations

That’s interesting! I got inflammatory poly-arthritis as a diagnosis, my RF was near high but not close enough to be positive. I noticed the fatigue, I had memory problems, my eyelashes grew and I was able to break my nails easier.

I found your video because I was contacted about clinic position. I have never looked into rheumatology but your videos has me intrigued. I have a year of experience (skilled nursing facilities mainly). Excited for a new change. Enjoy your weekend.

So I was at a 14, PCP referred me to rheumatologist. Was having random pains on one side but turns out it’s a pinched nerve. Was fighting to get referral to be told over phone by rheumatologist that my levels are normal and my anti-ccp is negative so now I’m confused. Cuz homie said I don’t meet the criteria to be a patient. Don’t get me wrong I’m grateful but confused. Grateful for the breakdowns. Yes it was helpful
@RestfulRheum19 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing! Yeah it can be confusing. There are many reasons why someone can have RF 14 that aren't RA or autoimmune related. That's why rheum docs often look for other things like anti-ccp, joint pain/swelling, joint stiffness etc to help differentiate. I don't remember what the reasons all are but I'm glad your PCP referred you to look into it further.

I received my first “looks like rheumatoid “ at the age of 16. By that point, I lost my ring finger knuckle… 13 years old. I was given the seronegative RA in my early twenties. So, 45 years later and it has slowed tremendously. However, I am so accustomed to pain that I miss mini flares. I now get diagnosed via X-ray or ultrasound during a flare. What made it much less damaging- I quit smoking.

I heard that with chronic fatigue there is exercise intolerance. However, fibromyalgia is helped by exercise. Is this true?
@RestfulRheum19 күн бұрын
Thanks for the question! From my experience exercise intolerance has been true with both chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia and that exercise helps. I've found it depends on the day and the type of exercise. And how I pace myself. I couldn't do High Intensity interval training like i used to but i could walk for short periods of time or do gentle stretches or squats. I think it's more of a how you exercise and how your body feels that day.

I just took enbrel last tuesday and for the first time in years I was pain free for 5 days. I have lupus that has given me RA and i would dread waking up and depressed to the point of wanting to give up. Listen we are all going to die, i would rather live the rest of my days to the fullest pain free and be the best mom I can be than be in the bed in pain. I just want my life back. Do not listen to people saying it killed someone they know. If I don't get the inflammation down I will die anyways.

Thank You!!!! Very! Very! Much. Because I have RA, type 2 diabetes, a bad back and shoulder due to an injury. And my RAS prescribed me “methotrexate, prednisone, and sulfasalazine. For it at first. Then she saw that it wasn’t doing my arthritis any justice especially, the prednisone because “of course those are steroids and they can be dangerous if taken for long periods of time. They can actually damage your nerves and joints.” So she D/C the prednisone slowly, and the sulfasalazine but cont’d the methotrexate and put me on Enbrel 50 mg once a wk. But I have had it now for almost, if not! Two weeks now in my refrigerator and I’m so afraid to use it. My mind is telling me not take it but this excruciating daily pain is telling me to take it. And the only reasons that are keeping me from taking it is the fact that one of the side effects of taking it is that it may cause “DEATH!” And I have a lot to live for and I am just not ready to DIE YET!!!! ❤❤❤

@YOUPEOPLE-h5n I was scared too for years. I did parasite cleanses and herbal supplements and changed my diet, and not a GD thing worked. I am on week two of the shot, and I have a little pain here and there in my hands, but it is nothing compared to having to literally roll out of bed and walk hunched over at 42. Embrel has been out for a while. It has a 78% success rate. I refused to read the bad side effects and read only the reviews the ones of success, and I am so glad I did. I cried after the first week because I woke up able to drive and actually enjoy it again while jamming my music! I love to sing, and it got to the point that my ribs hurt so bad I couldn't take deep breaths to sing. I am 42, not 92, and I have a 13-year-old son. Listen, like I said before, we are going to die, all of us.. why not live now pain-free and not worry about the future. We are not living while being in pain. I hope my story helps you. This was not an easy choice for me. It took me 4 years to make it, but now I wish I had done it sooner.

Is it really true that RA cant attack organs? I thought it was rare but that it could.🤔 Ive been having complications like a gastric bleed and inflammationin my stomachvisible on a scope (im now on stomachmeds to reduce), kidney issues etc. I do also get a facial flush that resembles a butterfly rash. In 2019 i was negative for lupus but getting retested on Tuesday. I was diagnosed with sero positive RA in 2019. Sounds like it may be lupus but since it wasnt before i also thought it could be just really bad uncontrolled RA. But now im wondering 😮
@RestfulRheum19 күн бұрын
It can; perhaps I didn't explain the difference well in the video. My understanding is that lupus's MO includes attacking organs, similar to how RA's MO is to attack the joints. So you can commonly see that at any stage with lupus. RA affecting the organs is more of a rare late-stage complication thing but it's not it's MO like attacking the joints are. Thanks for asking!

I have swelling, swan-like deformities, Heberden's Nodes, and arthritis, and I need to use a walker to walk and have a power chair. My results came back RF Factor 47, Anti CCP 23 as a weak positive and the ANA came back negative. Years ago, I had the tests, but I was walking, and they said it was "unremarkable," but since then, I have been so much worse.

I did find this video very helpful. I am on a years long discovery of what my issues are, how they effect my functioning and how to manage them (RA, Fibromyalgia and Adhd etc., etc). I've just recently started to wonder if I may have chronic fatigue because, with great disappointment, I've become less energetic and more fatigued over the past 10 years (I was more active when I just had chronic pain) I'm starting to not be able to remain awake throughout the day or sleep at night. It's very overwhelming because im not able to keep up with my nieces, nephews and other family and friends as I was able to before. And engaging in activities that give me great joy and fulfillment has dropped dramatically. But apparently according to a lot of other people, there isnt anything wrong with me. And I can't seem to find a doctor that will pay attention to how the fibro and all other issues effects my life. I'm discovering more and this video has added to my knowledge, helping me to try to find other avenues to take so i won't feel like a prisoner with no life. Thank you 👍
