I had a very challenging class last year, this year’s group is so different. My son’s even noticed that I’m coming home in a much better mood than I did last year.

Kinders take extra, extra time to do everything at the beginning of the school year! In my opinion, kinder teachers deserve EXTRA PAY. I taught kinder for years and then it was too much. I really prefer grades one and above. Kinder is NOT for the weak! You will do great because you are an awesome teacher!

Which do you like better? Working in NY or South Carolina?

Do you have a projector or a board connected to the computer where you can display worksheets? I do that since I don't have a document camera. I have also hung the sheet on an easel to do it with students if I am in a really tight pinch! I hope you are having a smoother start to the school year now!

At our school, staff/students wear HOUSE COLORS on Mondays and SCHOOL COLORS on Fridays. It helps with outfit choices for school :) That's crazy with the hurricane and all of the school changes! The beginning of school is tough enough without all of the weather changes.

Do you keep the overhead lights off and use lamps only? I follow a teacher on Instagram and she always has the lights off, and only uses the light from the projector and some string lights. I can see it would be more fun for the kids this way. Love your videos! ❤

Your classroom looks great! Writing Process for kinders has me inspired...looking forward to that process with kinders during the school year. We also do the House System and wear our house color shirt every Monday with jeans and School Shirts on Fridays with jeans. Lots of fun competition for teachers and students :)
