CAD and computer controlled mold cutting. It was far easier to cut or scribe a channel in a mold than to machine a raised rib. So you got raised panel lines. It was accepted by we geezers. In fact the whole "raised panel lines" thing wasn't an issue. It's akin to model railroaders who want scale tread wheels and true 1:87 details and those who just want to see the choo-choo go around the tracks. But Revell, yeah. I'm surprised sometimes that I don't find a block of balsa in the box with "Good luck, sucker!!!" written on it.

@stephenbeck8753Күн бұрын
Thanks for this info. I got that Revell kit as my first purchase coming back into the hobby after 20 years and it is the wort kit I’ve ever seen. Started trying to re-scribe the panel lines but said “stuff this!” after doing one wing. Luckily I only planned to use it to practice airbrushing so I have no problems with it landing in the bin at the end of its mission.

Thank you for all the info. Helps A lot! Can I ask you to please do one on airbrushes? Like I have no idea how to fix one as both of mine are out of sorts I bought a new one and doesn’t work out of box . My first one worked great the first 3 times and I cleaned it religiously but it clogged up from AK paints it went all weird in the cup don’t know exactly what I did wrong . So had to break it all down and clean everything out and put it back together and followed the instructions step by step 2 more times because it won’t work at all now :( . I need to learn everything there is to learn about them

If people are more into fantasy they can checkout age of sigmar spearhead. Same idea box vs. Box and it should be very balanced. Anyways cool video!!
@SunwardHobbiesToronto4 күн бұрын
💯 %. I didn't include it in this video because I wasn't completely sure if sigmar had the 9th ed (or earlier) style of 500p skirmish rules or 10ths more streamlined combat patrol approach. Good to know it's basically the same across the GW board

@SunwardHobbiesToronto4 күн бұрын
Nope a typical kit of this scale is like 50 to 75 CAD! So just as expensive as a monthly Canadian phone bill
@SunwardHobbiesToronto5 күн бұрын
Additional information: 1. Most combat patrols only skirt around the 500 points mark. Some, like the mechanics box, aren't even 300 points 2. Necrons army wide rule is called the reanimation protocol. I corrected myself later but you'll never know! 3. Common and recent consensus is that the necrons box, and custodes are at the top 5 best boxes. Mechanicus and some space marines boxes are the worst. In terms of value, discounts and points. Also likability, it seems

Thanks David for yet another entertaining and informative review! I think most cars back in the day (in the United States anyway) had either a small or big block V8, and they were built to last. Real cars, they were. All the best from a very cold and wet Sunday afternoon in Stratford, New Zealand.

Ok David, I've been cutting up my stash of sprues and leaving the cut up pieces in a container. When making the Goo will having different sprues matter?
@SunwardHobbiesToronto10 күн бұрын
David said it doesn't matter so long as it's plastic and can melt! Consistency of cottage cheese! Also don't worry about different colored sprue as you'll be priming on top of the goo anyway!

Can’t stand the stuff. It’s stringy as hell and takes weeks to fully dry in a seam resulting in ghost seams months later. Black rubberized CA is the best choice for a filler.
@johnathan13315 күн бұрын
Yes and from my experience it also creates air bubbles when sanding it no matter what kind of application and plastic formulations I have tried.
@SunwardHobbiesToronto15 күн бұрын
Fair assessment. Though we found that sanding mostly removes any bubbles and the subsequent primer layers covers them
@xMrChippyx15 күн бұрын
