Can these springs be used with any plastic enclosure not just Wiska, looking to use them for IP65 garden sockets with plastic back box
@WISKAChannel9 ай бұрын
Dear John, thank you for getting in touch with us. Our COMBI junction boxes are ideally suited for installation with our Earth Spring due to their integrated thread. When using our Earth Spring in knock-out junction boxes with cable glands and locknut, the Earth Spring must be placed firmly on the thread of the gland to ensure contact. For this, the thread needs to be long enough. Should you be using a cable gland with locknut in an enclosure with a thicker wall, we recommend trying our OSET earth tags to help if needed. We hope to help you with our answer and are happy to talk to you again 😊

. Modell: Combi 308 IP 66
@WISKAChannel3 жыл бұрын

Thank you for your comments Tony. The SHARK Joints are not designed for permanent submersion in water. They are tested to EN 50393 for underground joints ideally suited for burying but not for use in just water. If you wish to have a gel joint for permanent submersion in water we would recommend using our SHARK SIXEIGHT series. These are IP68 up to 10m in water. As for the pouring of gel - all our gel joints come pre-filled (no mixing or pouring) - simple open, make connections, insert and close. All gel joints have no shelf life, are non-toxic and re-enterable.

0:31 - is the threading action of the gland meant to cut the disc out or are you meant to drill it out?
@WISKAChannel3 жыл бұрын
Dear John, if instead of the membrane itself a cable gland is used for cable entry, then the membrane will break out properly while entering the cable gland into the integrated thread of the box. We hope this helps you?

Anyone tried these? Are they going to last underground? I have always used traditional resin joints which are tried and tested but these look quick to do .

Thank you for your comments Christa. The SHARK Gel Insulated Joints are tested to EN 50393 for underground joints ideally suited for burying but not for use in just water. All of our gel joints come pre-filled (no mixing or pouring) - simple open, make connections, insert and close - much faster and easier than a resin joint solution. All gel joints have no shelf life (unlike resin joints), are non-toxic and re-enterable.

They are to quick when it rains water will get in it will run down the cable and straight in its a bad joint iv made better ones with tape

@@fagen2222 Our SHARK Insulated Joints are IPX8 rated and tested to EN 50393 standards for underground joints. These joints should be installed by a professional electrician. If installed correctly following the instruction provided with the recommended size cables (remember to always make sure the end walls break outwards), no water will travel down the cables and the gel will protect the connection. All of our gel joints come pre-filled (no mixing or pouring) - simple open, make connections, insert and close - much faster and easier than a resin joint solution. All gel joints have no shelf life (unlike resin joints), are non-toxic and re-enterable.

Hi - Really like your animation. I have a question for WISKAChannel or anybody else; Is it possible to join 3 swa cables in this boxe? I want to take a feed of an existing swa cable route half way down my garden. Or maybe there is an dedicated box for this?
@WISKAChannel3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your enquire. 3 x SWA cables can be used with the COMBI 308. To achieve this you will need 2 x COMBI 308 Earth Bars (EC308 - www.wiska.co.uk/en/30/pde/10101473/ec-308.html ). These earth bars are placed internally in front of the membrane threaded entry points. No need to use a banjo or drill simple install the BW/CW gland into the threaded entry and earth bar. If you would like to discuss in more detail please call our office and speak to our Engineer Terry Boswell: 01208 816062, thank you
@neilmick74473 жыл бұрын
Do you still make the 160mm version of this? I need to join 2 x 6mm SWA to another run of 2 x 6mm SWA with incorporated data cable.

Hi Neil, yes, we do still offer our COMBI 1210 - hope this is the one you´re asking for. There are EMC solutions for it as well - please see on wiska.com or wiska.co.uk and contact us for details. Greetings from us!

How do remove the lid/top of the 108 box? ie. twist - prise with screwdriver.
@WISKAChannel4 жыл бұрын
Dear Andrew, in order to meet all standards, our junction boxes must not be too easy to open. A screwdriver must not be used to avoid damaging the seals. But if you press the cover on the side of the 3 cable entries a little bit in the middle, it can be released diagonally upwards. This requires some effort, but it works :) We hope we could help you with this! Many greetings from WISKA!
