For proper fit your knee should be just slightly bent at the bottom of the pedal stroke for most folks that means you have to come off the seat to stand flat footed, or lean the bike a bit to stand on one foot. Longer crank arms can allow slightly lower seat height provided bike geometry and physical limitations allow.
@papablueshirt

Thanks for your input. I actually solved my problem by raising the seat a little and putting on shorter cranks. I am kind of short, so the shorter cranks was a game changer. Thanks for watching : )

You need a cargo trailer for your batteries 😅. I'd be too afraid of fires. One is less chance Hip or back problems on one side means the other side is weak so have to balance on the side that doesn't hurt and lift opposite leg
@papablueshirt
@papablueshirt Күн бұрын
Yes, that is my next project. Trying to decide which trailer to get. One wheel or two? I charge mine down in the shop, I too have watched too many KZfaq videos where things get out of hand. Usually, they have modified them and did something wrong. However, I would not want to charge in the house and certainly not unattended.

PBS - Have you ever been interested in a special handlebar? I have been looking at the Jones H-Bar Loop 2.5. It does what you did - raises the bar height (2.5 inches) plus changes the angle the hands have to hold the bar at. I get numb hands after a while - (also needing a better seat like yours)
@papablueshirt
@papablueshirt Күн бұрын
I had not seen the Jones Bar, it looks interesting. My hands used to go numb, but they are much better now with the handle bar extender. Seems like the extender would be easier because you do not have to change your grips, brakes, etc. But the H-bar does look like it would be comfortable. Have you thought about tilting your seat a little to the back? That helped me as well.

If I am doing my big 100 mile ride, I will only use it on the steep hills to keep my speed up. If I split my ride up and do morning and afternoon, on my afternoon ride I only go about 50 miles, so I use the AWD about 80% of the time. It is a very fun ride and I get done faster so I can get out of the heat. Today's heat index is supposed to be 115, which can be brutal.

You could run a second battery in parrel on the rear rack, use the battery blender. or keep a spare on there. I would even advise upgrading to a 52volt for an extra 4 volts of power.
@papablueshirt

I did end up putting a blender on it, it works great and no more switching. I also have the battery on the back, unfortunately it put a little wobble on the front wheel. Thanks for this vid. FYI, if you want to get a few more "spare" keys, take the new lock and keys to a hardware store that has a machine which "duplicates" keys. Heres the thing though: the machine will try to identify the profile of the key for your new lock. As the "new spare" will appear to be very long (it's really trying to make a key for a car!!!), you won't want to use it daily, but rather tuck it away as a spare. Before you pay up and leave the shop, try out the new key to make sure it works. My grandson has the Ecotric like your and he lost both keys, so I got a new "Hailong 1" lock and key set and went to a local Ace hardware and tried this out, works great and I have one now.
@papablueshirt

I am not sure, but if I were you I would pass on this display. It is the one thing I hate on this bike. The letters are so small I can not see them unless I am stopped and even then, they are hard to read because it is red on black. The trip was never programmed to work [other bikes with this display have the same problem] I thought about swapping mine out for the original H8 LCD display, but they say you lose your miles if you do that :( I solved the problem by getting the Komoot app, that helps me to see what is going on. The new H8 display is a color display, I have one like it on one of my other bikes. It is pretty decent : ) Congrats on the H8, if you want to help out the channel you can use my link ; ) I have almost 15k miles on my H8, it has been a workhorse.
