you got the right idea. just repetition. it takes practice to get the timing down between the pop, slide etc. let your legs rest then get back to it. thats what ive done.

great persistence on learning this trick. im impressed. thats definite dedication. i noticed your front foot flat on the board. ive seen angling your front foot slightly with toes ahead of your heel helps with the flick.
@Anstarzius27 күн бұрын
Do you mean with the toes angled more towards the nose? Or do you mean being a little bit on tiptoes rather than flat-footed?
@thebrokenskater27 күн бұрын
@@Anstarzius yeah sorta like a 45 degree angle i guess u could call it or something close to that. toes could also slightly hang off the side. practice step land the trick with the front foot more consistently then fully commit and land both. you definitely can do this.
@bami227 күн бұрын
That's some effort, nice job on landing that!
@bami227 күн бұрын
Also for learning fliptricks on smooth concrete, I would suggest wearing a helmet and wrist protection at least. The way you almost primo landed that could easily just flip out and you fall backwards with a good chance of spraining/breaking a wrist or worse slamming the back of your head turning you into a vegetable. Stay safe!

I landed my first heelflip after months and months, very surprised you landed one in a week. Thats amazing dude
@AnstarziusАй бұрын
To be fair I learnt how to get the board to rotate and land one foot on sometimes about 6 months ago, so there was some foundation. But I've probably tried less than 100 times in those 6 months since then. I also haven't landed another one yet, gotta rest my legs.
@braindeadrat_xАй бұрын
@@Anstarzius oh wow 6 months?! I've been skating for a lil over a year 😭🙏 crazy progress man, don't give up 💥💥
@K_spawnАй бұрын
Very very nice! I could see how you would adjust during your progression also notice when you're tired you don't lift your front foot enough, like as soon as you flip your foot is going downward, very nice 45 min vid , I'll definitely watch it over so I can too practice
@AnstarziusАй бұрын
Yeah practicing when you need to rest is not very productive, one of my feet going down is a consistant problem.

lets go!, if you want another tip which youll see in the video, make sure your shoulders are over your ass, when you pop if you think of jumping on your heels you will keep the board right under you every time
@AnstarziusАй бұрын
I've been able to get my shoulders fairly centered on good attempts, I'll try and think about jumping on my heels. cComitting to jumping straight up and tucking my legs is the hard part for me, I think the ones I've landed I've almost been able to push the board infront of me to make up for moving forwards a little.

I'm still getting a few of those - where my focus is on the upcoming grind and angle to land and find I've left my board behind again! Made my own little ledge to try & speed up the process - bit lower too. Keep going.

Nice! What size deck is that ?
@AnstarziusАй бұрын
The deck in this video is my friends 8.25" deck, I usually ride an 8", switching back was weird the extra width makes landing feel easier.

@@Anstarzius nice I just got an 8.25 I’m about to set up soon. Been skating 8 mainly but just trying things out

My legs feel weak too because I picked up a board and hit the skatepark for the first time in years and stayed for like 4 hours. Now I have to use my arms to get off the couch. And keep in mind I’m already very fit and squat 245lbs. It’s just that skating uses my inner leg muscles which is something I don’t normally activate much
@AnstarziusАй бұрын
Since I started skating for atleast an hour everyday my recharge time has reduced and I'm usually good to go the next day if I don't overdo it, ankle & foot injuries on the other hand leave me feeling off for weeks

Get some nike blazers theyre not used for skating often but they are cheap and provide great anckle support
@Anstarzius2 ай бұрын
Cheapest I've found so far are about $85 (New zealand dollars), various etnies and new balance shoes are a fair bit cheaper in the $60 range. Being vegan defintely doesn't help things. So far I've only skated vans and the EMERICA WINO G6 both of which felt fine, though didn't have any ankle support. I've got hot pockets in both feet at the moment so time for another break anyway!
