As a black man, and someone who loves writing rap, and whose favorite rapper is pre-revival Eminem, Vanilla Ice makes my blood boil. He's the physical embodiment of colonization in modern day and capitalism. He's just aping black culture and people give him a pass and then have the audacity to put him in the same line as someone who actually gave a fuck like Eminem

There's no problem with staying in your lane and being content with it. No stunted growth here, the legend made his mark.

Dude what the hell are you talking about? Kool G Rap never went anywhere. He never went commercial or had mainstream success, but he never stopped making music. The title "what happened to Kool G Rap" makes it sound like he disappeared into obscurity & no one knows where he's been or what he's been doing. Everyone knows G Rap has been doing the same thing he always did. Rapping straight 🔥

G Rap is the most underrated rappers of all time. He never get the same credit like his fellow Queens rapper LL Cool J who both adapted and maintained longevity from the 80s to the 00s but L is more recognizable by the mainstream than G but it dont take away the fact thar he's an icon of his own right. My favorite post Cold Chilling and Juice Crew song of his is Fast Life with Nas, G did his thing but Nas took it on another level and they Diddy have to curse minus the ninja part from Nas to make it legendary but underrated which it should have more love.

Him getting locked was honestly best for the youth of The Bronx as a whole all he was going to do if he blew up was encourage more kids to do senseless things to each other. The X has never been roses and bubbles but nowadays the kids caught up in this are like a death cult for real.

Skill was a necessity back then but what was always most important is great song writing ability within the confines of what’s acceptable. The best rappers are the ones with lyricism and great song writing abilities. Some rappers aren’t the best rappers but they make the best songs.

Sorry to say, but when Chris cross dropped the first time, they were not a hit they took them off the radio and box television for almost a year. Redroped Jump, then thats when Jump became a hit. That why when the next video they looked a foot taller, them an Em are the only ones got a Redo that i know of.....

Flow, lyrics, classic albums, impact/influence, etc. However you look at it, he's one of the all time greats. His last handful of albums were ok. To me his last great release was the offer you can't refuse ep. It's all just a victory lap though from the ill sht he dropped from 89 to 02

Damn. These Stunted Growth episodes are starting to be about music artists how didn't obtain popular mainstream fame and fortune. Kool G Rap definitely does not to be in a "Stunted Growth" episode. Same with OutKast, Goodie Mob and DJ Quik. SMH. Who's next? Scarface, Nas, Three 6 Mafia, Eightball & MJG, MC Ren, MC Eight, Kokane or AZ?

Kool G Rap's Wanted Dead or Alive is a no skip album in my collection. He's a rapper with "what do you know about this?" music instead of the common "nobody listens to this music" G Rap is for true hip hop heads not casual rap fans.
