Can switchbot can connect to 3rd party bluetooth hub? (Tuya multi gateway hub) ?

I've jist bought this model but can't work out how to set the timer or sleep mode- any tips?

I have today sent my Aqara back to Aqara. They were gracious enough to grant me an extra 14 days to try and resolve my difficulties but Bluetooth integration has remained a problem. There’s also been a degree of unreliability unlocking the door without a physical key 😬 and even the physical key has have become jammed on occasions which it never did before.

Amazon is doing £299 until 4th August. Just bought one and I think it's absolutely brill. Apart from the very basic mop option, the only downsides I found, is that it gets a bit confused by skirting length bedroom mirrors or mirrored furniture. It tends to faff around them for a bit before continuing. Its stairs detection is a bit hit and miss, so it can't be trusted not to fall down stairs. You need to set a no-go zone for that.

Mark, thank you for the video! I have a question: do you know (or perhaps can you check) if Apple Home Key would work if the keypad is mounted inside (i.e. near the aqara lock itself)? I don't have a lever outside, so I need a "Pull Spring" feature. That means, I can't use the HomeKit shortcut, but need to use the Apple Home Key to get in (if the lock is not closed, but the door is). However, I would prefer not to show that I have a smart lock to anyone. Hence, I wonder if NFC signal would pe strong enough to pass through the door and through the keypad if it was mounted inside. The story continues. Having approached Aqara Technical Support I’m pleased to say they are very responsive but the answers haven’t been quite what I expected. One of the main issues has been connectivity with both the Aqara App and Apple HopeKit. Apparently Bluetooth goes into sleep mode to reduce battery consumption so connecting back into both Apps can be slow or even intermittent for HomeKit. Aqara recommend getting the M3 Hub, which is fine if one intends buying more Aqara kit but a bit of an overkill (maybe) just for the smart lock.

Do you know if it will run automations if the internet is down but the WiFi is still up?

Hello Mark, I live in the Netherlands where locks have an additional latch. ( slight turn of the key to open ). I am confused between nuki 4 pro are aqara u200. As you mentioned, aqara u200 can handle the additional latch turn, using the apple home key. This makes it an obvious choice for me. What would you advise? I believe Nuki would require opening the app and use OPEN function to fully unlock the latch.( not so convenient).

I’ve tried all the suggestions I can find. But I can’t bind the lock to the M3 hub in any way. Same thing with Homekit. I’m lucky there was a keypad with it 🤣

Got mine installed today, and it's added in Apple Home and the Aqara app, but I can't get the NFC reader to register HomeKey from my watch or phone. It just doesn't do anything. Fingerprint works, Siri works, using the button in the Home app works, keypad works. NFC acts like it doesn't exist. There's no guide anywhere on what I should try to do to fix it.

Have you considered changing your multi point lock to an auto engage one? That way you don’t have to lift the handle. I have this with the Danalock and it’s great. Do you need to use the keypad for Apple home to work? I assume it cannot work through the door or directly with the lock?

Just got mine yesterday but I’m still looking to get the cylinder with the emergency feature. Couldn’t find anywhere here in Ireland. Does anyone know where can I buy it and get it delivered to Dublin? Really appreciate!

I’ve had all sorts of issues with the installation and use with the U200. The Aqara App has been a bit quirky to set up and Bluetooth connectivity has been unreliable. Apple HomeKit does not always work as well. Locking and unlocking does not work and on occasions the physical key gets stuck requiring fiddling with the turn mechanism to release. The features meet all my requirements to for family and guest visitor use (my wife and I have a couple of Airbnb rooms in our home) but the access has been so unreliable I don’t have confidence in the unit. In fact my wife got locked out unable to use the keypad, finger print or key. I have reported these issues to Aqara and waiting for a detailed response, although initially it has been suggested it’s my cylinder (originally with a thumb turn) is the problem, but that would surely not affect the App use or Bluetooth issues!

Great video, thanks. If I had one of those annoying lift handles i would fit a multipoint auto-engage like the one made by Yale. Homekit and Smartthings let you associate the Aqara G4 Doorbell with the U200 Lock so you can look to see who is there and then unlock the door. As you said Airbnb hosts can use Homekit or Smartthings.

The current Privacy Statement for Aqara Home on the iOS Appstore is concerning. For example(quote): Data Linked to You includes "Location, Contact Info, Identifiers & User Content". As per "Shenzhen Aqara Software Services" - Not clear WHY they need access to our Video etc.

How is the key velocity? Seems pretty loud even if you’re not pressing hard? I would like to hear the really “soft” touch notes.

Hi Mark - thanks for the very helpful videos. I actually just bought this lock, but wasn't able to correctly install it on my door. We have a multi point door handle, but the lock is engaged separately from the handle. So when you lift the handle up, it only engages 2 little hinges in the door but not engage the actual cylinder lock. The lock engages only if I rotate the knob from inside or the key from the outside. I presume I made a mistake and this lock won't work for my door? Perhaps I need the Simpled Leverline? Can you please advise. Your guidance is much appreciated!

Have you also examined how powerful the motors are for these two units and Aqara? My door requires a significant amount of force to turn the key!

Not every lock can be unlocked from the outside when there is a key present on the inside. Especially not with new locks

You have to have a HomePod hub for this correct? Is it possible to add the SwitchBot Hub to the Apple home app without a HomeKit hub?

You need to be closer to your microphone or use a lapel mic, it is hard to hear you in that echo chamber.

It says it’s up to date, trying to see if there is a way to force an update.

But mine is not updating past 16.6, is there a way to force an update? Without losing all my setup? Or should I use the iPad as the main hub reset Hub and then put mini back as main?

On the phone to Aqara, they said HomePod needs to be on version 17.5 which mine is not, and mine have the latest update 😂 so far.

Hi, I have iPhone 15 pro max. I have not contacted aqara support as I have found them not helpful in the past. I have tried many forums but no luck. This is crazy. I will keep trying today then I will return everything.

Update: I got a 2nd Aqara lock and still the same issue. Then I purchased a hub m3 and still not lucky. I can’t understand what is going on.

Interesting. Ultion have told me that the Ultion Nuki is slightly different to the Standard Nuki suggesting this wouldn't be possible. maybe the 'slightly' different is the adaptor

hi can you purchase the adapting cables on there own because the kit is no longer available on amazon. and i don’t know the name of the cables. but i have found a separate similar fascia kit without the cables.

This is what I am reading ‘Speaking of Apple Home, the Aqara U200 comes with Apple Home Keys support, although you’ll need an Apple 2-in-1 Matter controller and Border Router to use it. With its accompanying wireless keypad, you can unlock the Aqara U200 with a simple tap of your iPhone or Apple Watch’ but I have the home mini and Eero 6e Router, is it saying that I would need the Aqara hub 3 as well?
