I can't imagine re-opening the passenger service on this line, so I'm going to guess it's a possible stabling site for empty coaching stock, rather than running North to Heaton.

So we got a 1000+ tons of steel of the road and back onto the railway only for it to go by road to the receivers? Did I get that right?
@michaelbrook91652 жыл бұрын
Where did the steel come from? Since the steel works on Teesside are being demolished

Very interesting new location and video, thanks. I've subscribed, having also enjoyed the steel slabs video. Which were the two 37s used , and could we see more of the locos next time please?

2 rakes of wagons? Was one half just left on the branch halfway up? Presume full train too long to run round at the docks? Can you run round on the branch?

Gosh I used to stand at Hendon Grange junction in the 60,s so much traffic to the staithesand on into Sunderland ,Villette road sidings ,wearmouth freight yard , if my memory serves me well early evening a Pacific would run light down to I think Brian mills mail order depot ,also York races brought quite a few specials through with predominantly Gateshead and York engines ‘also anybody out there remember Saturdayafternoon summer timetable turn via Sunderland ,mostly York A1turn originating from Filey holiday camp and Scarborough ,plehase correct me if I am wrong.

Awesome video. Wish I could get down to the docks to photo/video it down there, maybe ride on a train down to or up from there. I was gonna see it head out over Grangetown Crossing at 1815, but it left at 1530 instead so I missed it
