Space, the universe, all of it. Is not real. All of this is nonsense. There is no space. There are no planets. It is all nonsense that was made up to deceive you.

I like this brother. He talks about native and Celtic nature worship, and implies Pelagius was right, and Saint Augustine, a dualist, had a chip on his Amazigh shoulders about the God given powers of love and, yes, sex. He puts grace before sin, and if he were here, I'd tell him his nature or creation spirituality is adumbrated in many verses of the Quran and within a marked monotheism, as the believer is to look at wonder of creation, around him, and inside him, even in the various colours in people and animals, before a Book (after all, Muhammad couldn't read according to the Sunni view).

There are so many wonderful decolonial, queer and neurodivergent views of time that have been truly transformative. I particularly like quantum physicist Karen Barad's Agential Realism and their notion of spacetimematterings, where time is not viewed as a mere backdrop, progressing in a linear fashion, but to view time as agentic, elastic and co-constitutive of all phenomena, where the past, present and future coalesce and co-materialise thick presences.

Brian Swimme, you probably aren't aware that even 300 thousand years ago there were people who had amazing insights to the reality of everything - no different than people today who have had a near death experience or those who have had a spiritually transformative experience. A mystic is not a new thing.

The Post-Doom movement position on the ecological collapse is that it is inevitable. All the science, stats on climate change, it's said, makes near total devastation of the Earth community inevitable. Hearing Sarbmeet talk of the great difference between Darwin's mechanical physics and quantum physics of probability and uncertainty, my question is this: would you agree or modify the claim that this collapse is inevitable?
@sarbmeetkanwal
@sarbmeetkanwal 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Carol, the post-doom movement does seem a bit too pessimistic to me. If we can let our future be evoked by possibilities of a flourishung earth community then we can manuever our wau out of our mess today

The most important point made, given our current climate and environmental situation, is that “we will not save what we do not love, and we will not love what we fail to see as sacred.” Since there is nowhere, where God is not; in other words, since God is everywhere, everything and everyone is sacred. It’s about time we had the eyes to see.

It was mans misunderstanding of why there was pain and darkness in the world, plus misogynistic men blamed women. Humans started on this planet from scratch, of course learning, development, management of the planet understanding ourselves wasn't going to be a cake walk. Trust god , trust nature

Maybe he was, as many believe, a simple Navi, prophet, in Hebrew- and neither God nor a son of God. Others peoples would call him a Shaman. St Columba, whom I regard as my kinsman (he's from my ancestral tribe) called Jesus his 'druid'.

Thank you for your talk Matthew Fox. We need enlightened people like you who give us a return to such a positive view of religion and spirituality, instead of the "sin and redemption" misdirection that the churches took us on. We have wasted a lot of time judging and punishing others for their so-called sins, and seeing ourselves as depraved creatures for our sins. " We will only save what we love." We have such a beautiful world, a beautiful cosmos, yet we focus on power and wealth as if those are the be-all and end-all of our salvation. You are a brilliant prophet and the world needs more of people like you. I love how you show that a medieval woman like Hildegarde of Bingen held cosmic views similiar to Indigenous peoples of the Americas. But then sadly, the Black Plague turned many away from Nature, and we all wanted to be "saved". I am glad I met you about 30 years ago in Toronto because you have shaped my Spirituality since then.

Thank you, Stephan. Loved it. What a fine video clip re: "mutually enhancing allurements" that occur at all scales of the universe. A great scientific snapshot of same, and visual depiction of the mutual interdependence of all things. Yet, beyond your beautifully vivid description of same, a key question remains: What is the substance or consistency of the energy fields that give the Milky Way is "milky" (soupy) appearance, drawing all things together toward itself and each other? Seems the answer to that question is the key to understanding the very definition, substance, and identity of divinity, ourselves and all things "in whom we live, move and have our being." In short, the "Divine Milieu" Teilhard spoke of, and in which, according to Scripture, "all things consist and are held together" (Col. 1:16-17). There is only one universal element common to both science and spirituality that satisfies those questions, and, it seems to me, is the elemental basis to any new story of the universe. Hope to dialogue with you about it sometime. -- Joe Masterleo

I´m tottally comited with Big History Project. I´m just have some difficulties to introduce the concept in the most low educated contry in Latin America, Paraguay, wherte I´m from. And then, there´s the problem of religion that don´t want any "evolution" words in their school. So, I´m still motivated to share with people the wonderfull of the Deep Time History. Thank you for this wonderfull channel, by the way, I´m a deep spiritual , but not religious person.

The photos of nebulae and supernovas were breathtaking. And the message was reassuring, that collapse is a form of communion and a natural way that creation emerges. I am still pondering the idea that not resisting the collapse allows us to grieve the losses and honor the destruction and its impact on us even more. Inspiring and thought-provoking presentation.

I have followed the work of Brian Swimme for almost 2 decades and I am amazed at how he continues to strive for ways to communicate the need for a story that is appropriate for every human on the planet regardless of your cultural background and beliefs. In this video, he adds another dimension to the conversation using transformations and relationships as the key talking points. He is truly following the expressions of Thomas Berry with a specific focus on this quote from Berry's book The Dream of the Earth - "Our challenge is to create a new language, even a new sense of what it is to be human. It is to transcend not only national limitations, but even our species isolation, to enter into the larger community of living species. This brings about a completely new sense of reality and of value." I love it when Brain laughs with joy and excitement over the attention that his intentions are receiving from an ever wider audience!!

Dear Jennifer, I just watched the video you sent out - Brian Swimme “What’s Next - Planetary Mind and Future” (I missed the webinar). My mind is blown. It was waves of recognition - Lynne Margulis, Hildegard von Bingen, Awe as a conduit to wisdom … Hearing Phil Snow Gang mention Montessori’s concept of the Psychosphere … dancing with Teilhard de Chardin … How other consciousnesses might dance - deep dendrite delights on and on … thinking of the octopus dancing with Jacques Cousteau. As I watched I realized … “The Universe is a Green Dragon”!!! I read it 2002 and used it as a basis for my dissertation on Holistic Education with Jack Miller. It became a weave of earth-story, quantum physics, biography, and classroom journals and I had so much fun … like the starlings - the ideas took wing and led the way - “The Universe is a Horse: Autopoietic Education for Technoprosaic Times". You told Brian he changed your life and I suddenly realized that he changed mine too. I just went to the barn and stopped to look at the stars gazing back in that wonderful loop of creation and re-cognition that Brian mentioned. I imagined my horse as a single celled organism growing, expanding, multiplying becoming the dawn horse and suddenly thundering herds of wild horses and a lump formed in my throat. Thank you for those two exercises. When you mentioned them Brian, I didn’t realize how visceral they could be. Maybe visceral is the wrong word - encompassing? elemental? … knowospheric? Thank you and thank you, I will go to work tomorrow changed, Wendy
