Pay few hundred extra? Pay double would be more accurate comparing it to Sigma or Premier. It’s like saying BMW 3 series is good but the 7 is much better and spacious

I have used one of these in my pool for thirty years. It does a great job and it is easy to fix. Not made to filter the water, that is what the filter is for. If your pool is cloudy you have something else going on chemically

I’m getting ready to buy my 4th Dolphin in 15 years. My most recent one, the Premier, was purchased in April 2021 and, of course, just died after the 3 year warranty expired. While I’m frustrated with their limited life span (note I live in a cold climate so it is only operated during the summer months) after watching a bunch of your videos, I think I’m going to have to cough up the money and buy another Premier.

We are in Florida and have a bird cage so no need to worry about large debris and leaves however about twice a year we get bombarded with tiny insects that create a real mess on the water surface. We walk around with nets scooping them up and never seem to get them all. Will this product do that job for us?

I'm one my 3rd replacement. this trash is annoying and it doesn't clean well after a major rain. I have a 24' above ground pool and this pool season has been a challenge with this pool cleaner. It will keep the pool clean if it's already clean. Very disappointed.

Not worth the money. Had mine for three years getting error codes tried to even replace the PV board to no avail. They wanted over $450 for placement card which is almost half the price of these things. Don’t waste your money.

So you say that the Dolphin Escape and Cayman is similar in price to the Aiper Seagull Se in that review but the price isn’t even close?!? The Aiper is $150 and the cheapest Dolphin is $699???

Hey Pool Nerd, great video. I inherited an Aquabot Elite (not the Pro model you reviewed here) from the previous owner of our home. Mine is in desperate need of new brushes but I've had a really difficult time sourcing parts for it. The internet seems largely devoid of information on the Aquabot line of products and your video of the Elite Pro is one of the first I've found calling the product by this name. I've seen similar looking models marketed as "K300" and some evidence that the Aquabot company may have been split into two comanies, a US and International but neither have support dealerships anywhere close to me in Northern California. Do you have any tips on finding parts for these products?

Yes, works well, has a double filter which does better than a single unit, has a warranty, I needed the motor replaced but was returned in 2 days all fixed, great service. I found out by spreading the cord out after each use it gets better after each usage so the cord doesn’t get coiled up. Much better than a fully better unit which only last a couple of hours of run time. I use mine everyday now, super clean pool.

After thorough research and watching a number of KZfaq videos, I decided to purchase a dolphin quantum after my last robot, which was an aquabot finally bit the dust. I use it for the first time today and have to say that I am not impressed. After running this unit in 2 intervals of two hours, each, it only hit one section of the water line once -the rest of the time it struggled to climb walls. Footnote, my pool was extraordinarily clean, as extra precaution I brushed the walls prior to use. It’s simply struggled to climb walls. I have an inground pool. My water chemistry was fine, which I know can impact the performance of a robot. I turned off my pump, and when the quantum went over my main drain, it was stuck there for nearly 10 minutes, no pump running. The unit did not seem to have a tight grip on the floor. It seem to bounce a lot and did not hug the pool. I’m not certain if this is the cream of the cleaning robotic crop. While, I like the anti-tangle swivel, the cord did get caught in the rubber fins. I did like the lightweight, however, compared to my previous robot, the motor was a bit underwhelming. None of the KZfaq videos creators provide specs on the motors. This would be helpful. Again, this is my experience, and I am pretty fastidious about pool maintenance. I have a 30 day return and will pack this up and send it back. Very disappointed particularly at the $1000 price point.

I would like your feedback on permanently leaving your robotic cleaner in the pool during the season. For years, I’ve always taken it out after use. However, as these become more programmable, I am wondering if there is any additional wear and tear or harmed by keeping your robot submerged in the pool . Also, pouring chemicals into the pool, do these chemicals have any impact on the electronic components of the robotic cleaner?

Had the same Polaris for over 20 years and having used tractor electric cable pool cleaners as well, I won’t be changing. My pool once opened and cleaned twinkles like diamonds for the rest of the season. Maintenance costs are minimal and the Polaris does its job with minimum attention other than emptying the bag. Strongly disagree with this review but you pays your money and makes your choice.

Do you not test Polaris pool cleaners, if you do then any reason why they do not make the cut ? Polaris is easy to fix cuz you can take it to the nearby Leslie store and they give you free labor while charging for parts replacement. Yes those parts are slightly more expensive but still the convenience of fixing these when they break and yeah they do break irrespective of what brand they are.

This is already discontinued, bought mine 2 years ago. Replaced several parts, now it’s not working, I think I need new cord. Like MOST things we buy today it seems like they do not care about quality. Pool cleaners used to last 15+ years but now these manufacturers build with low quality parts requiring “expert” repair or “new unit” replacement within 3 years. Basically divide the $price by 3 years and know that you are renting a unit not buying a reliable tool. Greed is a virus. Infuriating.

These leak water inside to the control board, battery and motors. Mine was 1 WEEK out of warranty and they basically said 'tough luck' and offered me $30 off of a replacement. So I took it apart. There was water inside - on the control board, and obvious corrosion on the motor sides. And get this - there was a silica gel packet inside, that had absorbed so much moisture that it fell apart and the gel came out. To me, that packet indicated that Aiper KNEW there was a moisture problem. I left it open in my garage for 3 days to dry out. Now it powers up fine, where as before opening it up, I was getting random, red & blue blinking LEDs. I am going to try to seal it up better than the cheapo rubber gasket that the Chinese used. I considered adding a drain plug to let it dry out, but there's not a whole lot of room left inside the housing. Avoid at all costs!

I took this apart 3 different times and set it by the dehumidifier for 3 days each time and sealed it with military 8802 proseal the first time and aquarium silicone the second and third time. I do this kind of work for a living so i am very thorough when it comes to cleaning, prepping , and sealing. I have done a leak test on the plastic tub. I found some small leaks on the base behind the screw holes so i paid close attention to that area while sealing it. No leaks through the charging port. I am lost and can not find any more leaks but i am still getting the error after about 15-30 seconds under water. I am defeated and now i see why Aiper is still putting out a known leaker because they most likely have no idea where it is coming from. Other than the leak i give it at least 4.5 stars for the price.
@bobster4887
@bobster4887 Ай бұрын
@@bleeke69 Good luck. I did pretty much what you did as far as sealing it up. I got the same short run time as you. I suspect possibly where the motor shafts protrude through the plastic. I added a bit of silicon to try to stop any possible water leakage at that point but it still failed. It's a poor design. If you pop the circuit board off, look on the back. There are 2 large round conductive areas. I suspect these are how the unit detects water intrusion. The conductivity of the water completes the circuit between the 2 sensors and alerts the control circuitry of water intrusion. That might be a place to start. Maybe disable those? I don't think I'm tearing it apart again, at least not any time soon.

Are your walls slippery -If so, try brushing your walls down first. If it’s still does not climb walls, contact the manufacturer as it has a warranty. Sometimes it takes a few days to map your pool. I just purchased this model and will receive it in a few days. I purchased it specifically to climb walls in for the waterline feature.

Seems to me, the ability to program these things is a waste of money? If you have to lift them out of the water, what's the use? Can you leave them in the pool for extended periods? We go away for a few weeks at a time in the summer. It sure would be nice to have a robotic cleaner that would start up and put itself in the pool, clean everything, and then put itself away. Does anyone make such a cleaner?
