If you replace everything you said about Taipei with nyc it would be just as true, most people don't own a house/apt in nyc, you need to make 100k+ min in nyc, lots of people say they can't see themselves living in nyc long term, esp if they want to start a family.

I am actuakky a loner and often find it hard to be in a friend group. I find it hard to function in these outside study and work settings.This video ended up being something I did not know i needed and I am going to start actively working towards it

Mad fomo. I'm tw Canadian as well and have the same contemplation about living in TW. Vancouver's hella expensive, makes me think it'll be the same difference in TW after taxes and cost of living. Perhaps Taichung or Kaoshiung is a cheaper option? Love your vlogs... Keep it up!

I think Kaoshiung is definitely more affordable!! I think Taichung is getting up there too though 😅 my plan is to just make money and hopefully do well enough in Canada that I can go back to Taiwan often!!!

Tbh I've been living in Kaoshiung for the past year and will for the next one ahead and I am seriously considering staying there. I love going to Taipei, but I think Kaoshiung really has those chill and homey vibes that make me feel at ease while living abroad, which is a hard balance to strike... Of course I will always be a foreigner there, but the beauty and happiness I've experienced there are just unrivaled by any other place🥲
