I need some explanation, wouldn't you (and potentially many others if they used your program) buying items for cheap and selling them for MORE than you bough it for end up in time increasing the prices overall. So it would probably be worse for an average person just trying to buy or sell something here or there as opposed to treating it like a job. I'm probably wrong, hence I'm asking for clarification. Also, as a side note, do you actually spend any time playing the game? I'm new-ish but it was my understanding that most things can be farmed by yourself with varying degrees of hardship. And then you can just sell thing you don't need pr have a duplicate of.

I see the profit margins per trade for your items and I think I'll just incorporate a function that will message and set up trades with people from trade chat allowing to what I think, a maximum in a 3x profit increase. It's literally just because of casual and new players not knowing about the cost of things

The wildest part of this system is the patience aspect on a prospective buyer, if the price difference between 2-3 sellers is only 1-5 plat then the most responsive seller is going to make the sale; no buyer wants to wait 5 min for a response. Even if the instant response is a “please wait till I’m done with this mission” most players are willing to wait 20 min for a responsive seller than a delayed initial response who’s ready after not instantly responding.

While I do have the economics brain to understand why this works, I'm nowhere near committed enough to do the code. I normally trade on a "I want to buy X shiny from ingame market" basis, yes I am guilty of being AFK when someone sends an offer not my fault the Dojo music is good at lulling me to sleep. Now the trying question here, could this solution deal with the wild world of rivens?

If you don't have any platinum at all, look for radshares in recruitment chat. You'll get rarer parts, which tend to be worth more. Sell those, then you can start using platinum to complete expensive sets you own parts of.

5:50 Wouldn't that auto-updating price ruin this once two or more people start using the program for the same item? Wouldn't it constantly update buy prices to be 1 plat more and sell prices to be 1 plat less with the program running on multiple accounts constantly trying to under and overcut eachother? Ultimately narrowing the spread to almost non-existence? I also understand that you set it to limit the sell price to never be less than what you originally bought it for, but that doesn't stop the sell price from getting within a 1 plat range of that original price you bought it for - Once multiple people are using such a program, the likelihood of the spread reducing to be at or near 1 increases significantly. (Especially considering that AI will just outright compete with eachother and not have the sense that such a thing is happening)
