You have to know the cover is the result of an “in-joke” because someone laughed at the way their pluggage was set up, lol. Good listen.

I love the juxtaposition of the harsher, jammier first track and absolutely beautiful and serene second track.

Wow -saw them Feb '71 at 'Clarences' - a little club in Halifax, and having recently bought my first electric guitar they had a profound impact on me, and thought they were bloody fantastic, - - I remember the photo, as shown, in the music press, - think it was an issue of 'Music Now'. Ive looked many times on the 'net for any recordings but no avail, - until now! They were one of the first 'rock' bands I saw live, - apart from 'The National Head Band' a couple of weeks earlier at the same club, I must admit that I haven't the foggiest what they played that night other than it had a massive influence on the direction my musical tastes were going. Thanks for posting - was going to post a copy of the ad for the gig but can't.

In 1997 I bought Journey by Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come. I already had The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and that one is great, but Journey was very different, Mellotron-heavy space rock (I also since bought Galactic Zoo Dossier and the second Kingdom Come album). I didn't realize Victor Peraino recorded with his version of Kingdom Come until around 1999 or 2000 and released No Man's Land. I didn't realize the original LP is practically impossible to find, as only 100 copies were made (which I believe, Discogs never sold an original copy), but I'm glad it was reissued many years later. This sounds like how Journey may have ended up like without Arthur Brown, and with a Midwestern feel (Victor is from Detroit) and that typical American prog rock vocal.

Damn you nailed it! I mean his voice is the exact mix between Neil and Ian, it's even a bit weird. Also the harmonic lines with Chris Poole make it sound like Stills, Crosby, Nash and Young.

What a wonderful combination of prog and folk, some more folkie, some more prog, but each song wonderful to the ears. For our listening pleasure, they even include a very nice Dave Cousins / Strawbs cover. Will listen to it again for sure. Thanks for the fine upload.
