Does Q Stand for shot volume flow rate which includes Part and runner sprue or just part volume rate? Video says shot size/fill time.
@proto2580
@proto2580 Ай бұрын
Q stands for volumetric flow rate - for example, CC/sec or cu. in /sec. The molding machine settings determine the flow rate, but may be restricted by the sprue, runners and mold cavity. Shot size is the volume of everything being molded in that shot, including sprues/runners and cavity. Some molding machines can control shot size - a metered shot.

Can a HDPE homopolymer have different monomers besides ethylene in it's manufacture? Different companies have different properties for HDPE homopolymers, which is the origin of my question.

Would like to see more data on mold fill. Mainly laminar v turbulent flow.
@proto2580
@proto2580 Ай бұрын
Injection molding is almost always laminar flow. The viscosity of molten plastics is super high, and prevents turbulent flow.

Thanks for this video. I have a small doubt with this system. If our compound have low melting point /or/ sublimation point, then is there any chance of decreasing the weight percentage in TGA curve when this compound cross this temperature?

2:55 I wonder why energy associated with transition (area under the peak) is smaller in heating mode (endothermic transition) (157.2 J/g) compared to energy associated with transition in cooling mode (exothermic transition) (178.6 J/g)? In theory the energy of transitions should be equal. From where additional 21.4 J/g in cooling mode (exothermic transition) is coming?
