The higher hp idea is great, but putting it in the same platform is not. The boom is not strong enough to push the extra load and will bend. I challenge everyone who owns a Deere CTL to check if there boom is centered. If you use attachments like rotary cutter or dozer blade, i can almost guarantee you it is not. Check gaps between boom and track at front.

Took the manitou vt230 on demo , really liked the machine especially rollup door. Only reason for not purchasing. Large cast steel links on both sided of machine that guide lift arms have about 3 inches of side to side play . When turning with bucket loaded arms would pop and bang . Not sure what manitou was thinking here . Needs to shimmied . All other machines with cast links do not have any play side to side.

Wayne, what a great overview of the Manitou CTLs. In your interaction with Manitou, did they mention their plans for dealership expansion? Living in the South East United States, both Gehl and Manitou have a very limited presence in the CTL market.

I have been running the new P Dozers, 550 and the 850 and now I want to start using the 333 instead of the dozers because of price and the versatility and the amount of fuel I will save in one day. I was able to level ground almost as fast with the 550 as the 850 and I saved the customer money. The cost of rent is half the price for the 550 and the insurance is cheaper. The 333 I think will save the customer more money again with the savings of rent, fuel, insurance and do not need a semi to haul it. The only complaint I have about the machines is the back up camera is useless with that fish i lens. When backing I can not see exactly how close I am to a ditch or loading it on a trailer, I have to look out my mirror or look behind me. I would like to replace the fish i camera with a camera from a pickup tuck. I have been operating equipment since 1972 and I do like the idea of a back up camera if you can see with out distortion.

Its time to boycott John Deere until they stop thinking that perople can not do without them and that they can still own the right to repair your machines after you take out a second mortgage to pay for something. They charge what doctors make to work on your equipment bwhen it shouid not even have broken in the first place. They charged me $500 for a little EGR valve that probably cost them $50 ( then plus the labor). Beyond infuriating. License to steal basically. Perhaps you could add 6" more leg room , and do whatever needs to be done to keep them from having a propensity to burn up when used for forestry mulching . ( Put a 50gpm hydraulic pump on them also to keep the drum spinning and make serious forestry attachments with a roll up door that doesn't cost an arm and a leg with the goa .to.out do the ASV 135 etc etc etc. ( Putting the bigger cooler in there was a good move . Hopefully you have made the reverser strong and bullet proof).so, they are at least $20,000 over priced for normal people ( middle class farm/land owners ) so realistically , I going to have to go with the Kubota 97svl just because of the price.

Seems goofy, like more work getting out with the bucket directly in front of you like that... I'd sooner just lower the arms lol. But if you look at the front, they redesigned the arms and interface so you can lift the bucket 1-2 feet off the ground and still open the door. Way better than before where they needed to be on the ground.

We need to get these new flagship machines together and have a proper shootout, Deere 335p, Bobcat T86 and Cat’s replacement for the 299D3 xe, I’m leaving out the ASV RT135 mostly cause it’s more of a dedicated mulcher type and plagued with issues. Right now bobcat has the highest hydraulic HP in the industry with the T86 and a cooling package that is now proven to be able to run a mulcher in superflow all day in triple digit heat with no auxiliary cooler, the only other machine that even claims to be able to do that is the ASV, all the rest need roof coolers. If this 335 can become the third machine that can make that claim then we all win, one more great option.

75 horsepower no def as opposed to 25 horsepower for farm tractors. Industry is apparently finding a workaround for this though. Be interesting to see how pure BEV impacts this market though (ICYMI now currently pure BEV locomotives let alone Tesla Semi for those wondering about power output for pure BEV.) The one advantage to pure BEV is instant torque in moving the vehicle anyways. As a replacement for hydraulics using electrically powered actuators not sure about that. No doubt the industry taking this threat seriously now though given the success of Tesla now Rivian even Lucid talking up the possibility of a pickup truck.

You don't get def in farm tractors until 76hp+ the >75hp to 25hp farm tractors usually have regens but not with Def. The 5075e john deere (75hp tractor) doesn't even have regen because it's really efficient but rated hp is actually like 74.5ish.

Even this guy totally refuses to even acknowledge fullsize crawler loaders. He mentioned every line JD sells except crawler loaders, I think they are afraid to market crawler loaders. I believe they know how useful and versatile they are and don't want to educate their customers on them. They had a fantastic product with the 605 and they cancelled it. That was pretty much a full sized CTL with better visibility.

Why would they not want to market and push a versatile machine? I agree with you on the crawlers versatility and usefulness, just don’t understand why they wouldn’t want to push them if they knew the pluses like you say. @@scottmcquarrie7295I agree I recently looked into a New Holland TK4 not exactly the same machine your talking about, I’m just trying too look at other ways to be more productive using one machine. Unfortunately every machine is a compromise of some sort, I like having a pto at the rear but that specific machine doesn’t have enough HP/flow to mulch paper. Basically it’s a tractor bolted to tracks but it doesn’t seem to be able to be fitted with a loader. Wish I could sit down in one of these design meeting and give them my 2 cents, as we all do.

I get a kick how most industry so called professionals completely over look and are ignorant about crawler loaders. Even this gentleman, who I watch quite often and is very knowledgeable forgets about full sized track loaders. All these new large CTLs are are morphed small crawler loaders with rubber tracks. I personally think they worse visibility than a crawler loader. The last crawler loader I ran was a brand new 605K Loader and it was phenomenal.
@damonwicketts1638

I'm sure crawler loaders are great. But the reason people love compact track loaders are their ability to be transported from Jobsite to Jobsite without having to either hire a full time CDL driver or hire it out every time you need it at another location, nor can a crawler loader swap attachments. There is always a trade off.
@scottmcquarrie7295
@scottmcquarrie7295 6 ай бұрын
@@damonwicketts1638 , you make a great point about moving CTLs without a CDL. ( I just gave my CDL up after 30 years. ) Too much bullshit. That's definitely a plus for CTLs, but as far as attachment capabilities, a quick coupler on a crawler loader with auxiliary hydraulics and you can put virtually any attachments in your imagination on them. 6 way Dozer blades on a crawler loader should be premium for finish grading.
