One of the main reasons I want to be a PA is to intubate, I’m an RT, I get to intubate in some hospitals only but PAs they intubate everywhere in LA.

As a PA of 22 years. Take a course that will show you all the topics and common questions. I have taken this exam 4 times I believe and it hits the same subjects over and over. You can do it, you just need confidence and know those points they want to hit in the exams. Get practicing practice tests and you will pass it

this is a great video! i was just wondering, do PAs basically take on the same workload and stress as physicans but for a lower pay? the salary is completely fine for me, but im scared that ill be choosing a path where im severely underpaid and see physicians make more for the same/less work

Hi Adanna, does it matter if a first degree is obtained online or in person to be considered for a PA school. I'm currently planning on attending WGU for my 1st degree before applying to a PA school. Please help 🙏.

I am in school to be a medical assistant because I am not enjoying the teaching field at all. I have had my fair share of being a caregiver especially to my grandmother. And it wasn't easy I pushed through it with taking care of her at the end of the day it made me feel good. There were times where i would see my grandmother break down and I would be there to help her through it. I prefer to be apart of the healthcare system instead of teaching it's not worth it at all. I am glad that the healthcare system is so broad. I don't think I am smart enough to be a Physician assistant. Great video by the way. @Adanna The PA

You are smart enough to be a P. A. If that was something you wanted to do you'll do it. We are all art. Every individual walking this earth can bring something unique to the table. I wouldn’t care if I was sitting next to issac newton I would still say he not smarter than me 🤣🤣 Each one teach one. Always speak highly of yourself and try your best at everything it is you do. You can do anything you put your mind to. We are all smart enough to do anything we want to do. Consistency, practicing, studying and repetition makes perfect that’s how most individuals become knowledgeable. about because if you really want to achieve something bad enough you’ll discipline yourself and focus enough to reach the goal.

Adanna, once again, fantastic message on the channel! I wanted to share that I'll be attending nursing school but have decided to pursue PA school for my graduate training instead of NP school. Having been in the industry for as long as I have, I've noticed that both nursing and PA offer "lateral mobility," which is something I highly value. Additionally, the training hours PAs receive compared to their NP counterparts is a significant factor for me. My decade-long experience as a licensed CNA has given me a lot of perspective, and your channel has been incredibly helpful in shaping my decisions. Thank you again for all that you do!

I think it’s tough for a lot of pre-healths to decide what they truly want to do because so many of them have very limited exposure to healthcare until college. When you’ve wanted to help people in a medical setting your whole life and you thought being a doctor was the only way to do that it suddenly becomes much more challenging to decide if that is really the life you want for yourself when you find out about the other options too. Sorry for the rant, just my experiences for myself and what I’ve seen from others haha
@AdannaThePA

I totally get that, but I just don't want people living unfulfilled lives. I've seen it too much as it is and it's usually because they aren't listening to what their heart truly desires and what they've been called to.

Hi, can you do a video on a pursuing a Masters degree before PA school? I was wondering if completing a masters degree in something like Biomedical Science or Biomedicine would help offset a low gpa. I'm considering completing something like this during a gap year before I apply to PA school. for example would a high grad GPA in a Biomedical Science masters program look competitive if I have a low undergrad GPA?

2:14 I laughed when you said "We are in a business of customer service, and we are servers". You are saying that working in healthcare as a PA, MD, nurse, CNA, MA, RT, PT is the same amount of customer service as working in a restaurant or a hotel? Because you made that direct comparison between the two careers. If what your saying about customer service in healthcare is true then why do so many doctors and other providers have low or no bedside manner or compassion? I'm speaking from direct experience from both sides of the coin, as a patient AND working in healthcare, and I'm not the only one with this observation. A hospital is not a 5 star restaurant nor is it a 5 star luxury hotel, just speaking the truth. There's just too much burnout and stress working in healthcare to be constantly people-pleasing and doing everything they want. I just totally disagree with that statement about customer service.
@AdannaThePA
@AdannaThePA Ай бұрын
I understand what you mean about burnout but just because so many providers are stressed and burnout out and it shows in their mannerisms and how they speak to their patients doesn’t negate the point that I made which is we are in the business of customer service. lol. It just proves the point that as providers we need to do better!

A lot of the accepted students- if they are young- like 22 or 23 years old and applying- usually KNEW they wanted to be a PA by age 17 and EVERY single summer during undergrad (while being presidents of Pre PA club or the like) they got their patient care hours. Or- alternatively- they had a nursing degree of surgical scrub tech and were working for 2 or 3 years straight after their undergrad then applied. Average class age is about 26 or so- quite a few who are 28-35 (and were dietitions, occupational therapists, nurses.. working for 3-5 years). You can get in if you're on the younger side- but you probably need to have worked EVERY single Summer during undergrad as well as maybe volunteered abroad in order to stand a chance at getting in when you're 23 years old.
