Great video but can you tell me hoe you remove the ratchet ring.
@Brant_Moore36 минут бұрын
I don’t think the hub is made to have the ratchet ring taken out.

If you’re intending to keep the unit dry WD40 is a wet lubricant unless you mean WD40 dry PTFE spray which goes on wet but dries leaving a PTFE coating. How do remove the ratchet ring that the pawls engage with as I can’t find anything on this.

Tried to use the spacer with this tool and despite pushing in the American bottom bracket adapter cups with bearings inside as straight as I possibly could. Didn’t realize until it was too late and the bearings on each side were pushed in and the spacer wedged downward all crooked and now I have a exspensive bike frame with 2 stuck bearings in it that I have no idea if I’ll be able to remove. This tool literally ruined my bike. The spacer is so wedged and it’s probably unreliable considering I can’t get the punch on the bottom side of the bearing cover at all. I might have to take an angle grinder to these American bottom bracket cups now…. I should’ve never used the spacer…. For anyone thinking about using that spacer with this tool, don’t, just use the bearings…Great tip dude 😂

That bearing is a gimmick. Im a mechanical engineer and i dont believe that sealed bearing is engaging. Its a .004" slip fit on the brake mount shaft and there is no downward pressure through the bolt to engage it. Brake mount shaft length isnt consistent enough to design them to apply force that way. Probably why fly bikes who makes the best brakes didnt bother to do a bearing because they are aware. In this case there was no engineer behind the development just this guy who doesnt understand how the brake works and thought a sealed bearing just sounded better.

Excellent video, thankyou!!! Watching this will really help me later today in the final stages of tensioning up my e-bikes new MTX39 26" rim (yes, i know its a bmx vid but i loved bmx when i was younger and rode freestyle everyday, im 51 and still love bmx)... I reecently got a buckled hubmotor wheel on my e-build so i bought a new stronger rim to put my hub motor into from the buckled rim... Today I got all 36 spokes laced in (finally, after several duff KZfaq vids that didn't help at all, but a few did and i managed to do it - phew!!!). Now later today I will be tensioning up all spokes and flippimg my bike upside down and usung the tieclip trick to check for lateral / hop movement... Thankyou, your vid was just the type of concentration information i needed, 'cos im not ocd but I want it to be absolutely perfect as it can be ... Thankyou dude!!! Great vid!! Wish me luck 🤣👍
