I've tried a few theaters now, and there's definitely a sweet spot that depends on the actual theater setup. The one I've been visiting is massive and the last row is actually the best. But it really depends on what works best for you. If you tried a specific theater, I'd be curious to know which one it was and how big the auditorium is.

Now that would be cool! I honestly wish they would do ScreenX Allstars and replay great films using the medium. It has a dearth of releases, so the more the better. Only issue I could see with Polyvision is that it was across a single screen. The wrapping of the film would likely distort. Cinerama is something that would possibly work better. Perhaps even Ultra Panavision releases like Ben Hur.

@@timelesscinemashow There is a company called Pixelwix that uses a warp technology for curved screens that make standard pictures able to fit ultra wide curved screens. I'd like to see a premium movie theater that has a single ultra wide curved screen that can allow for standard shots, Ultra Panavision shots, and Cinerama/Polyvision style shots to perfectly fit the same screen.

Thank you! Earlier edits had actually discussed Barco & Cinerama regarding the history. But I decided to scale back and focus on the current status of the tech. And I completely agree about the early works, such as Aquaman. Not enough ScreenX and didn't seem to have the tech in mind. But it's been building up lately and getting better. So I'm excited to see where things go from here! I appreciate your thoughts and reaching out!

Absolutely loved the ScreenX version. Those action scenes were solid!

From the few films I've seen, I haven't observed any cropping. ScreenX is essentially an extension of the standard version of the film.

@@timelesscinemashow that’s sadly wrong. Screen X is a cropped version of a film, the two sides also aren’t even the same quality level as in the middle

@@galaxymoonlqght3732 Hello. Actually, you are incorrect, sorry. The film is *not cropped*, everyone. The way the technology works is that the central screen is *the original film*. The side screens show *extra images*, using special cameras that film extra footage especially for this experience, much like a special 3D camera or an IMAX camera does for those experiences. That's why ScreenX is only available for the big blockbusters. This is also why some scenes don't have the side screens active, because the Director decided not to film extra images for those scenes for whatever reason, ie it's not an action scene. You are not wrong sir. I believe it's actually a framerate disparity between the side projectors and the primary (good) projector. During some films, you can see the timing is right. But the refresh rate seems higher on the main projector. When scenes change it seems like a delay but it's not quite right. Results also vary by theater location. But that's my experience.

This is shot from Seat K9. In my opinion, I9 or K9 are the best seats in Regal ScreenX. But this can vary a couple seats depending on what side the walk in entrance is. That modifies the seating numbers and the centering within the theater.
