I can't wait to watch the rest of this after work. The BF-109 is my favorite fighter from WWII even though it was on the opposing side. It truly revolutionized aircraft design. I'm going to pickup the MSFS 2020 one that was just released and I'd love to build a cockpit like you are some day. Though I would probably build one of a DeHavilland Dh-88 Comet (from the 1934 Air Race). :) Excellent craftsmanship!

Most are bindings on the cockpit panel.. There are 5 or 6 keyboard keys I need.. And there close together.. The best thing about the panel is that the distance to a switch the same is as what I see..

Dutch could you elaborate on why the 109 stalled out the way it did? I had that happen to me once and it was very strange. You mentioned something about propellor pitch. I always thought that because the 109 had fuel injection it wouldn’t run into issues with stalling as much as planes like the Spitfire, which had carbureted engines. Btw great video, I really enjoyed it! 🙂👍

When you are on manual proppitch and take off, throttle back there is no problem.. As you can see on start I was also getting a hard time to get speed.. So a throttled up.. The pitch was to low and rpm is going up.. It was still in the limits.. Then I climbed and went full power, over the rpm that the engine likes.. And kills the engine and locked up..

Il-2 has more maps, more planes, better performance, more players. DCS WW2 has more detailed, more realistic flight models and more detailed systems, clickable cockpits, more realistic sounds. Both are good, fun sims. I personally enjoy DCS more because it feels more like I'm flying a real plane with realistic physics, sounds and systems.

I love playing DCS WW2 in VR as well. I use the INDEX, it has very nice FOV but resolution is a bit lacking. I use Logitech flight switch panel, G56 HOTAS, and logitech rudders. I fabricated and Welded my own HOTAS mounts. Did you make that awesome 109 dash, or purchase it? Nice video and lots of fun!

VR is more universal way to go (no need to build so many cockpits).

Cockpits aid in the more "realistic feel" of the overall experience. Placement of Flap lever, Landing gear and even flight control locations.. you have fun flying your office chair behind your desk and the genuine enthusiasts will continue investing into their hobbies. Where else can you be allowed 24hr access into a WWII cockpit ranging from instrument/ familiarization trainer to actual aircraft. All I can offer is, Buyer Beware...for every dollar spent on a Simulator, someone is investing just as much into a replica/ ultralight, flight hours or other worthwhile investment towards taking to the sky...that includes Simulator prep courses that applies to an Actual logbook. Nice video, I have stutters at times like crazy. Basic spec info, Intel 10850K, 32GB Ram (another 32GB is on the way), and a RTX4080. I checked the Local file you said to adjust in the Varjo-Foveated, but I do not have a settings file listed. Just a log file is in the folder. So I can't make those adjustments you suggested to try. Any ideas on what I can do?

No matter what I try I can't get DCS to run smoothly using the Aero. I put all my settings to match yours and Im running a very powerful PC. AMD7900, MSI 4090 with 64gb ram. I don't even see the frames drop but the ground is always stuttering.

@@burtayevirgen7064 Make sure to disable sync and motion smoothing. They do work as intended in DCS. Also, you get a large FPS gain when quad views DFR is installed and ran getting you generally over 90fps most of the time.

@@MCP2002 It's better in every single way IMO esp with the ability to use DFR. While the G2 was good for it's time and still is for the price point it's not even comparable in terms of clarity and software integration. Not only that, but they seem to actually work towards improving it. The G2 will be as it is with no support moving forward either.
