I've only sat in a couple of the newer GM HD trucks, never took one for a drive yet which would cause one to realize what one likes or dislikes of the positioning or the seat comfort ( if driven for some distance .. never going to happen on a dealer test drive ). But your wife is so right, I could as a 6'4" guy think something is good for room and can see around and over the hood quite fine. Conversely I could get into a smaller SUV or car and feel like I may as well be in a "smart car" cramped etc where as someone on the other end of the spectrum fits a vehicle like that, like they were made for it. So its interesting to see a Ford pickup with the correct options has the ability to fit a wide variety of people because some vehicles certainly don't tailor themselves to fit outside of a fairly narrow range of people sizes.

Found that fuse had fallen out of fuse holder on ceiling fan. Now I can’t get the fuse to stay in the fuse holder. Had to duck tape to hold it in place. Any suggestions.
@automotiveinquiries96738 сағат бұрын
@tumalo710 if the cap has both tabs that secure it, see if something is obstructing the base securing area. Sometime those cap retaining tabs break off, they are pretty light Duty, I believe the fuse holder can be replaced after market, although it would be more intensive to replace that.

I'm trying to figure out which GM truck, either Chevy or GMC truck, will work well with a slide in camper. GM does not make it easy because they seem to have two different payloads for their trucks. One payload they publish and is somewhat easy to find. The payload for slide campers in trucks is not published it seems to be hidden in the glove compartment. Can you help us figure out which GM trucks will work with a slide in camper without having to modify the truck.

We JUST got our 24 F350 with the 7.3 gas. It's a cab and chassis with a flat bed. It's a farm truck that will be moving hay and horses. Let me tell you, I just graze the accelerator and I get instant power with 52 bales of hay. Would have been more but it was the first day owning it and we were unsure of the best way to load. Could have easily done more.

Hi, do you consider reviewing products?
@automotiveinquiries967316 сағат бұрын
@DynoVox I do review products, typically the ones I buy, I will try and mix it up to show the difference, but I'm not sponsored by anyone. I haven't been asked by anyone to do their product, although I would as long as they were open to fait and honest reviews of it.

Good video and her opinions are valid . Chevy seats are fine for me and the tailgate is a great work platform. It has become clear that the GM 6.6 has with the 10 speed is better mileage when not towing. But....either one works well with 17k and under towing......

I’m currently running a 7.3 Powerstroke with almost 200k miles on it. I’ve noticed the torque numbers are about sixty less with the 7.3 gas, and almost(not quite) twice the HP. I’m guessing the SOTP experience is going to be negated by the ten speed. “Next Truck” has a good chance of being a 7.3 gasser. I’m in the Great Basin, so there are hills pretty much in every direction I’d tow.

I really like the ford trucks i wanted a f350 with the 7.3 with 4.30 gears. But i end up with a 3500 chevy with the 6.6l gas. I didnt trust the 7.3l engine with all the issues they have.

I really like the color combo and tremor package. All in all, I think all manufacturers seem to have issues with their new vehicles and for the prices consumers should not have to deal with the issues we are seeing. I have a 22' ram 2500 with the 6.4 I purchased in February used. It has the 12" screen and already habe had issues with yhe screen not turning on. Search the internet and found numerous posts of consumers saying they have had the same issue. No codes, typically doesn't occur when you try to have dealer diagnose the issue and Ram has not issued a recall. I think it's ridiculous for what we pay for these vehicles.

I am not so sure you are giving all the facts.... a gas engine performing as well as a Cummins diesel ???? You call it a HD diesel and not a HO diesel .... You can't even get the terminology correct how is anyone expected to take your review seriously?
@automotiveinquiries96732 күн бұрын
I appreciate the feedback. I think many get caught up in things that aren't all that matter. As for the performance of the engine, sure a diesel will out performance a gas in almost every single engine way. I put in a caveat, the control of the truck, suspension, all other things like that. Also this was only a standard output diesel, not HO. For 25 ram is also going back to only one diesel option. I've owned over 30 diesel trucks from all big 3. Most people getting into the HD market may have never even owned a truck and have little knowledge about what owning a diesel requires. I've worked on diesels for 20 years, my son followed in my steps and is a diesel mechanic. On a weekly basis he sees at least 3 to 4 diesel filled with gas and then driven to the shop because they don't run right. I keep it I'm simple terms as much as I can. Lastly, yes the current ram truck, aside from the engine, does not perform as well in control, ride or handling as the ford and chevy...gas or diesel asside.

Those trans temps are crazy. I can tow anything and never go over 165 in Ram. I don’t know why they would that high temp for longevity.
@automotiveinquiries96733 күн бұрын
I agree, the ford runs the hottest, and heat is no friend of mechanical things. Some report the ford going up past 230. Chevy always ran 200 or less.

@@automotiveinquiries9673 coming from a long time Mopar guy when they were their worst it was always heat roasting transmissions. I think that will bite them in the long run. Trying to get any little mpg at cost of longevity. These vehicles are amazing though. Just keep getting better and better. Who would have thought a gas job could be good for towing? Even 5-10 years ago they sucked. Now with 8 and 10 speeds there is hope.

Ford needs to bring back all analog speedo & tach gauges! These bar graphs look stupid and makes Ford's designers look like they don't know what they're doing!!!
@ShelbyvsViperКүн бұрын
Enter the 2024’s. Analog gauges are now outdated and not available in this trim level. I have a 2023 XLT and love the choices as long as in 5 or 10 years they still work.. cross my fingers on that one.
@LWRCКүн бұрын
@@ShelbyvsViper People have gotten more stupid with each generation and the consumer market is ever increasing the complexity to make things more gimmicky and less functional all in the name of progress. The purpose of instrumentation is to convey critical information to the driver in the most efficient, clear and effective manner without any distractions. These stupid bar graphs does none of that and just shows the designers have no clue what they are doing! I believe on the 2022 and earlier Lariet trim, all the gauges were analog and they are a pleasure to use. I have yet to have an analog gauge on any of my older vehicles fail - EVER!

Your 2024 window sticker shouldn't have any reference to "Boxlink", because as you show, they no longer use the Boxlink plates or cleats. That plate is only a tie down plate, and unlike the Boxlink system, the new plates are intended to be used as a stand alone anchor point. No additional accessories.

Thanks for these updates on these gas HD trucks. I’ve been going back and forth over the last year between the Ford 7.3 and the 6.6 in the Chevy. I like the looks of the Chevy better but I feel like the Ford is a better all around truck. However I’ve been seeing quite a few issues with the Fords lately so I may just end up with the Chevy 3500. Looking forward to the future updates on this truck though.

The other problem with diesels, is cold starting in northern climates. Places that do see -40 or colder in the winter. Without plugging them in they dont start well, sometimes they still struggle being plugged in, if you have summer fuel in the tank it will gel up. My uncle is a die hard diesel guy, i asked him if he would recommend the diesel over the gas to me, being that i care far more about reliability over power, he told me to get a 6.0 2500hd (this was before the 6.6 L8T came out). Diesels are great, and they have their place, but they are not the blanket answer across the board for everyone.

Great tip. Dad used to have me do this to clean chrome when I was a kid. If no WD-40, clear white kerosene is about the same thing. And diesel is nearly the same, but with more impurities (though it is much cleaner now with the ultra-low sulfur road diesel). In a pinch I have used gasoline, but that stuff is *very* flammable so don't do it. And gasoline actually does not work as well as diesel/kerosene/wd-40 because it evaporates too fast. Coleman fuel is somewhere in between, but that stuff is like liquid gold these days.
