The Yamaha sounds as good as the Tasylor to me. But the feel of the neck is just as important as how a guitar sounds. And I have no idea how either feels.

I have one of these amps that had been collecting dust for several years. About a year ago, one of my son's friends wanted to learn to play electric guitar, so i dug it out and let him borrow it, not really thinking much about it. He recently moved away to another town so he returned the amp to me. Just out of curiosity, I plugged in and messed around with it a bit. Its actually a decent little rig with the proper settings. Definitely not for metal, but paired with the Oneder Chris Demakes Less Than Jake signature pedal and a Stratocaster... wow! It does Ska/punk extremely well. Wouldn't use it live, but for recording, absolutely!

3:08 I noticed all those negative reviews for the Ampman too and I think a lot of those people dialed it in weirdly, overdid it with the Sagging knob etc. With a little fiddling and maybe an OD pedal it can sound really good

with a little coaxing this amp can sound pretty good on headphones and in a mix. I typically don't put this through a real cab so I can't speak to that aspect of it. But all in, I find the Ampman to be one of my most useful tools.

According to page 14 of the M-Audio Keystation 61 Mk 3 (Ver 1.6), to activate the 5-pin MIDI port, press the “Advanced” button and then press the highest C# (labeled “MIDI Out”). Now the 5-pin MIDI port should work; by default, the 5-pin MIDI port is inactive on power-up, with all MIDI data being sent out the USB port.

Always great to see somebody else also reads manuals. It's hilarious the amount of people i've seen whining about not being able to control midi modules and saying the midi out 5-pin doesn't work as advertised, and sending the controller back, just because they are either too "cool" or lazy to read or understand the manual

The mono only FX send is kind of annoying. There is literally no way to send and return and stereo signal. If you want to return the FX send into a mono source, just return it into one of the free mono channels, panned center.

Hey James, It’s me again. If you can please help me with another doubt of mine - 1. When using this as an audio interface, can I connect the monitor speakers to the MAIN OUT (xlr) ?? because the Monitor Out is unbalanced (rca) 2. What happens when I press the xlr=mon button when using this as an audio interface ??
@thecleverpeasant3006

Your primary monitors should be connected via XLR, that is how I ran mine. using XLR =monitor I believe just send the signal from you PC to the speakers.

Hey James, thanks for this video. Can you please help me with a few doubts - 1. What exactly happens when I'm using m1, m2, m3 & m4. w my DAW and I have connected my instrument to stereo input 2 ? 2. Where are the channels 9/10 ? 3. It says that it's a 4in/4out but the only 2 out that I see is the rca monitor out. Where are the other two outputs ? 4. What is the stereo input 3 ? Is it the monitor out ? 5. How can I control the level of my monitor out when using m1, m2, m3, & m4 w my DAW ?
@ravenshadevox
@ravenshadevox Жыл бұрын
when you use the "monitor know that will only effect the signal being sent to you speakers. when using M1,2,3,4 mode you should be able to control you monitoring via the monitor knob as well. if you mess with the main slider that will effect the signal into your daw. ST2 and ST3 MIX knobs control the volume of USB 1-2, and 3-4.Basically the USB mode effect hoe the signal goes into you PC. I hope I answered all your questions.

Got it for my acoustic guitar, the foot switch actually came broken 😢 but it's a sweet little unit, I play fingerstyle and my A finger (as in IMA: index, middle, anular) always sounds way too loud through my amp, now it sounds even andI gained a lot of volume as well , I usually play with my practice amp at 12 o clock and I had to turn it to 9, a small piece of advice, adjust for the softer sound before trying to suppress loud ones, that's how I managed to handle the uneven volumes. I f you are a newbie like me considering getting one, don't hesitate, for the price is a steal.

can you use RCA 1 and 2 same time as 1/4" out (monitors)? do you have to use rca 3/4?
@thecleverpeasant3006
@thecleverpeasant3006 Жыл бұрын
I'm using 3 and 4 out because I need to go in 1 and 2. If you are asking if you can connect a set of monitors to the 3 and 4 the answer is yes. And there is second volume control knob that can either be used for 3 and 4 out or a second headphone out. In my set up I use 3 and 4 to go out of the interface, and I use the second head phone out (with a Y splitter cable) for a set of monitors. So I can effectively still have two sets of monitors and still have 3 and 4 to send signal out of the DAW.

According to the user manual it is a standard 1/4 inch (6.25 cm) jack. In the manual it says "External fx unit requires an available stereo return channel." Which isn't a very clear answer to your question but it is all I could find. I've never tried to send it out to a stereo set of jacks.
