the rubber on these well nuts would deteriorate over time letting moisture in, no? would it not be better to use seam sealer and a rivet?

Well nuts and rivnuts both have a lifespan. The difference between them is when they need to be replaced a well nut can be easily popped out, but a rivnut has to be drilled out.

If it was Purpose built with weight in mind ( Lotus Cars come to mind ) i could see the Vitriol for weight. But it is NOT That at all. Notjing wrong with making a vehicle look more presentable at the Cost of Ounces. The Mentality of adding weight is Nutty. Like saying " Sure you can double or Triple your HP with a Turbo, but it is 15lbs of ADDED weight " . Easiest way to lose Weight in a car, lose Weight as a driver. Want to justify the extra ounces in these, then Dont wear Socks, weight saved. Sorry for the book response.

Oh wow, the black trunk with the blue garnish is actually amazing. Way better than just having a black trunk. I really, really like it as is! You should consider painting the ends of your carbon fiber wing rally blue though to keep the look going.
