Hi all and thank you for these amazing videos. I'm rebuilding my EJ253 and finally got to the last stage and found a metal bracket I don't recognize and a bolt. I relied on a friend to teardown the engine which caused this confusion. Is there anyone who'd accept an email with pictures of these unknown two items? Thanks again

Only problem is trying to watch the video with the sidekick talking in the background over you. Other than that…I just figured out why my Lexus gx470 2006 (200,000+ miles) was acting the exact same way, even after buying another battery ;-;

Have you ever figured what was wrong with the electrical issues? My 08 Explorer is having small electrical issues and my fog light housing covers fell off so im thinking a short from condensation in fog lamps because covers fell off
@mpt.yt411 күн бұрын
No, but that would make sense. The issues kind of stopped randomly. It may have been around when I changed those out.

I have my dad’s ‘63 Galaxie 2 door he bought off the lot. I grew up in this car and now it’s mine as he passed away 2 years ago. Got it to a drivable state but it for sure needs work. Yes, that fuel filter was a pain to replace. I’ll be checking on future vids of this, thanks for posting.

You should wait until you run the engine before you check the oil level with the dipstick? This is because the oil filter has no oil in it until after you run the engine. With oil filling up the filter there will be less oil level on the dipstick.

What gas do you use for your 05 gx?

I am at sea level and I usually run it at 87 octane. If I know I need to run it under high stress for a while, I’ll occasionally run 93 for a few weeks at a time.

It’s a nice video but the real point is is it worth the work. Did it last an hr, week, month or a year.
@mpt.yt429 күн бұрын
Ended up lasting me about 5 months. Less than I had hoped for, but very quiet for the time it did. A patch or replacement will always last longer though more expensive

Just happened to my 2004 GX470. Started making that same whining sound about two weeks ago and was getting louder, until three days ago it just stopped working. I found a guy who specializes in A/C repairs to replace it today. $37 for the part and $100 for him to install it. I gotta say -- thing lasted almost 21 years and 323,000 miles! How can I complain?

You really shouldn't guess regarding the spark plug gap? You need to find out the specified gap and then set it with the proper tool.
@mpt.yt4Ай бұрын
You’re right-gap was verified after the video to be the correct size. .75mm or .029 inches is spec.

When I was in HS my best friend would sometimes drive his fathers 1963 Ambassador to school. As with all Ambassadors it was powered by the Rambler 327 V8. And no it was not a Chevrolet engine. Rambler had a 327 in 1957, Chevrolet did not have their 327 until 1962. They look nothing alike. I just want people to know that Rambler engine was a runner. He sometimes would do a burnout and it would smoke the tires both it had a posi. rear. as long as you wanted it to. I can remember yelling at him Mike let off you are going to blow the rear tires. Mint green his mom picked the color when they bought. it new. Looked just like this one except for the grill which I liked a lot better on the 1963.

Love both cars! Glad you’re having fun with them. The Rambler is the most rare as far as being seen and likely the one that gets the most compliments and questions. That’s the best feeling IMO. My ‘63 Ambassador original 63k miles gets a lot of different looks, comments and it’s so fun! That Galaxy is a good one too and also a looker👍

Hey Michael, I drove a '59 Ford 2-door Custom all thru high school. It had a 292ci V-8 with a 3-peed manual transmission that I put on a Hurst floor shift conversion. I also added dual exhaust. Unfortunately it had a two barrel carbonator so it wasn't the most powerful 292 on the street, but I got into plenty of trouble just the way it was........ Grandpa Tomko

I actually never found out what the issue was, it never did it again. I’d check the PCM and make sure all electronics are plugged in well.
