Here in Houston the coldest my pool has dropped is 58 so far. But I'm trying to plunge after I finish my workouts. I've noticed when I don't I'm sore. So, I'm going with that it has benefits. I've worked up to 15mins. I think that's the most I need.

I agree. Anything in the 50's is pretty cold! If nothing else it has to feel good. Keep going with what works.

Great podcast. Just to add since it wasn't specifically mentioned: Lucy Charles-Barclay had the fastest bike split and 4th fastest run. That kind of dominance (in addition to her fastest swim) insured that she wouldn't get run down by anyone, in spite of the sore/tweaked achilles near the beginning of her run. The closest Knibb ever got was 1.5 min during the bike, and also, LCB finished the bike 1:29 faster than Knibb, which is still faster even if subtracting Knibb's 1 min penalty.

Thanks Mike - this has been a huge help. Could you look up some historical loop data and let us know what the total elevation climb was? 4100ft vs 7000+ is a big range of discrepancy :)
@CrushingIron
@CrushingIron 11 ай бұрын
Hey man... the loop is pretty consistently around 2500 x 2 .. and I'm guessing the stick is around 500... so 500x2.... you're pretty safely at 6,000.... I've seen people who claim up to 7k but if I had to bet I'd say 6k.

Mike - thank you for this! I am not close enough to ride the course and this was very helpful to watch - and calm my nerves. I have been listening to the podcast for the last few weeks. A finish at Madison will be in large part due to you and Robbie. I hope that I get the chance to meet you there.

Sorry I missed the live cast. I have done Wisconsin and its a good one. I'm doing Mont Tremblant. Can you do a course review in a cast or have one of your athletes provide a review? Love your content. I'm an AG like you and I totally agree... its about pacing and completing and not about speed.

Robbie talking crap about Ironman as a brand. The fact that these two clowns are even coaches and get paid is the fact that Ironman as a brand has done such a good job and motivating people. What a joke. Mike needs his own podcast. Robbie talking about character and morals is so funny… coming from a con artist.
