Hey no worries. Slip first stitch as if to knit( through the front loop). It depends on how I grabbed the yarn in the previous row. Knit all stitches as you used to knit, same with pulr stitches.

The math on the decrease is a bit confusing. The decrease round is working over 9 stitches instead of 8. It works okay when you have 72 stitches (9x8=72), but not for other numbers. To decrease 1 on 8 stitches, you would knit 6 stitches and then k2tog for a new total of 7 stitches.

Yes. But you have the same 8 parts for decreases, that was my idea when I said multiple of 8. If you have other number, divide it by 8, place stitch markers and make decreases right before stitch markers until you get last 8 sts

Great tutorial! Thank you so much. It was so good to watch such a clear demonstration with no unnecessary talking or music too. I wasted hours trying to learn a stretchy cast on last week and ended up giving up and using a long tail cast on on bigger needles. I'm halfway through the hat now but, will find some scrap yarn tomorrow so l can practice this. 😊
