Cool video. Have continued vaulting? I started in 9th grade back in 1976. Straight poled 8’6” the very first day trying. Two weeks later was bending a 12’ pole and cleared 9’6” in my very first meet. Moved to a 13’ pole and basically was stuck at 10’6” until they moved me to a 14’ pole and I instantly made 11’6”. Last two meets of my freshman year made 12’. Tenth grade broke my ankle in football during the summer. It took 5-6 weeks to heal enough to start vaulting for 10th grade. Made 12’6” first meet and improved to 13’ in city finals. Then advanced to San Diego county finals and pr’d in the finals at 13’6” to place 3rd. My jr year I improved to 14’ 1” and won the county finals in 1978. My senior year I moved to a 14’ 9” pole but only held 13’9”-14’ on the pole. I improved only to 14’ 3 1/4” officially and pr’d in practice once at 14’6”. I went on to jr college and became a decathlete but never beat my vaulting PR. I have to say being a vaulter up until I was 24 years old and also coaching the event for high school kids and two seasons at the jr college level for almost 20 years that your vaults at 13’+ honestly looked like you could easily go 1-1 1/2’ higher if you penetrated just a little bit more and stayed inverted a little bit longer. You dropped your hips to soon and that’s easy to see and an easy fix. You have so much room for improvement if you continue to vault. You really haven’t vaulted that long. I wish you luck. I enjoyed your video. It brought back wonderful memories. I’m 62 years old now and you never ever forget what it feels like to run down a runway full blast, pop off the ground, bend the snot out of a pole and ride it then let that pole fling you upward towards the sky and soar over a crossbar and float back down onto your back into the pits. We are a very small percentage of the population that can ever say we did that👊🏼✌🏽😎❤️
