Just make a stencil by shading a blank piece of paper with a lead pencil, childhood style...then use cardboard or a plastic sheet to cut your particular tire fonts letters out, and spray paint it. Done in less than an hour. A breeze to touch up too.
@DocsBoost7 күн бұрын
Very interesting approach. It sounds like more than an hour's worth of time but worth a shot. Thanks.
@McGussen7 күн бұрын
@DocsBoost there's 17inch sheets of graph paper that would work well for the shading part. Cutting the pencil shaded paper can follow the tires curvature, then use that piece to transfer onto those thin plastic cutting boards, then use that thin plastic as your stencil to place right on the tire...then a few blasts for each part of the tire with the stencil should take less than a minute. Depends on how long it takes you to make your stencil. And once your stencil is made, it makes the next set of tires a breeze if you stick with the same brand and make.

My trans is -2.5 I set the rear pinion to 0 to make -2.5 pinion angle on 1 piece driveshaft?
@DocsBoost8 күн бұрын
In my video, I talk about "slope." Are you saying your trans has a -2.5 slope? If that is what you mean, match that same slope with your pinion gear. Remember, the pinion flange is the front. so attaching a digital angle finder on the flange should read -2.5. Then ; you are good.
@stevemustang41208 күн бұрын
@@DocsBoost hi, thanks for responding, yeah the trans shows -2.5 and the driveshaft before the pinion same -2 5 then I measure the pinion flange it's at -2.5 , is this correct for measurements at the pinion flange or should I set it at 0?

Doc, For cleaning and waxing when you don’t need the electric Torq R what products do you use on the GT500? I’ve got a black 2014 GT California Special and it’s my first and probably last black painted car. Or, do you now use the Torq R for all your polishing/waxing? Also were the towels you used in this video microfiber or just good 100% cotton towels? Thanks, B
@DocsBoost11 күн бұрын
Good question and I know professional detailers are going to cringe at my answer. So I hope some of them add to this discussion. I try to use good quality sprays (graphene or ceramic) on a regular basis. I keep my car dust free as possible. I dust every day and sometimes twice (or as needed). I replace my California duster frequently (it does scratch but everything scratches-LOL). I've used F11, Torque Detail, Meguiar's, Griot's, and others. As far as microfiber goes, I buy them in quantities and go through a lot of them. I like them to be fluffy soft, if that makes sense. When dirty, I toss them. If you decide to wash them, do not dry them in dryer with heat. It destroys them. I hope that helps.

I do the Torq R about every 5-7 months.

I know this is an old thread, but for you people coming here now (July 2024), I just had all these issues and more, fixed them all with a bidirectional scan tool called TopScan Pro. Will also Re enter your steering wheel… you can even program new keys and key fobs. Check my longer post in this thread about my experience.
@MoGumboFukUTubeForChngngMyName13 күн бұрын
My $89.00 TopScan Pro bidirectional scan tool does the same thing (of course, this is four years after you made this video. I blew a rear brake pad, piston seal blew on rear caliper and I lost all fluid pressure by the time I got home and lost power steering. I had Advanced TRAC, traction control, ABS, Brakes, and power steering lights on. Ford said it would be almost $5000 minimum. I changed all four rotors and sets of pads, and put new Calipers on rear. Front Brembos were fine. I bought the TopScan tool and ran diagnosis. It came up with about 400 codes (exaggerated). I saved report, and cleared DTCs. Since I knew my biggest issue was brakes, I went to “Brakes” on tool. It ran another diagnostic and sent me to a maintenance screen. Told me to go to “Chassis”, then Breaks”. Then walks me thru steps for the tool to activate and test systems. You hear things buzzing and clicking all over the car and it stops. Says HCU unit needs to reset and activate and tells me to fill brake fluid reservoir and continue. More clicking and buzzing, tells me check fluid level, more clicking and buzzing. Then once that process was complete, tells me to click on “ABS”. Runs more tests. Tells me to bleed my brakes (the old fashion way). I bleed brakes. Then Scan Tool says, “ABS” needs to be bled and system needs to reset and calibrate, hit “Continue”…. More clicking buzzing, then gives me steps to take on all four calipers. Final buzzing and clicking. Tool says save report, Clear DTCs, and run diagnostics. A few other DTCs were still there, ask if you want to fix. I say Yes. Clicking buzzing, says save report, run diagnostics and clear DTCs. Then DONE. Every light gone, every system works perfectly, INCLUDING POWER STEERING!!! Bonus… it fixed my passenger side power window which hasn’t worked in two years. So, $300 in parts, my labor, $99.00 TopScan tool… saved myself from being fraudulently ripped off by the Ford Thievery Mafia.

@@DocsBoost: The main reason is that there are hardly any Chevrolets between 1917-1954 that exist. The Chevy frame and engine mounts weren’t designed for a V-8, which means fabrications. The 1932-1940 Ford is the most sought after automobile of all time. The ModelT is right up there with the best. Easy to build ‘Hot Rod’. Chevrolet’s ‘glory years’ were between 1955-1970.
