I love this movie so much...especially the scene where Dido rejected Oliver's proposal and stood up to Lady Ashford saying she did not wish to marry into a family who would carry her as their shame. Oliver only wanted her for her money and was just a ventriloquist dummy in his mother's hands - her dreadful ways and his brother would have made Dido's life impossible. The way John looked at Dido and proved his love for her just made me swoon. I've never wanted marriage and you can say I've always found a way to avoid romantic feelings to grow towards another, but I remember thinking when I first watched this that if someone ever looked at me the way John did Dido and proved it I wouldn't last another day as a single girl - hasn't happened so I'm safe lol...thank you to Amma Asante for this beautiful film ❤

In a way they kinda did kiss. However Stella didn’t feel it. You can tell the second last mouth to mouth was kind of a kiss.

As much as this is just a movie, the love that these 2 people share actually exist and it’s sad and heartbreaking that all good things must end. We will never know why!

HIs response to her fears about being under a man's power, truly marvelous: "Well, unless he is your equal, your true equal, a man who respects you!" She'd never heard a man say something like that, and then telling her she didn't need to demean herself for position. That made her think because she knew that the Ashfords were all about demeaning her because of her face. All they wanted was her money. But John thought her complexion was beautiful and that any man should want her, whether or not she had any money.

ugh I love this movie so much, their chemistry is so so good and I watched it twice within 2 days. Also Sam's eyes are so expressive it makes it look like he actually was in love with her.

Even after watching the movie 5 times, I really enjoyed your well-designed love story that was difficult to see happening during the movie, but your compilation made it lovely, and easy to see the love affair happening between Jane and Henry...Well Done! Thank you!
